Heres a qoute from Singer about this. This interview appears to have been conducted when they were going for this option.
Q: The opening credits of the first film featured original artwork that introduced some concepts, so what kind of idea are you going for with the credits in this film?
SINGER: An idea similar to the Donner film but with more information, so not just the credits, there'll be more information in that'll help us catch up with what's been going in the world with Superman and his history. I'm designing it right now with Digital Kitchen, who did my opening for "House" and they're terrific people and we're finally together every so often. It's not immediate but we're getting there and dealing with them and I wish I was there not just talking by phone.

this would be new ,fresh. but of course singer just had to again copy something from donner.

i sooooooooo want to see the directors cut. i want to see the movie that he was talking about in 2005 until may 2006.

^^Theres a lot of stuff we haven't seen dark and i wish wonder why they didn't put that on the dvd. They could easily have released a 3-disc set with all the material they have.

Thanks Retro ,

Those look so cool , love the orginal logo . I would have loved to have seen this version . Hopefully in the sequel Bryan will hopefully feel more free to do his own thing a bit more .

Your welcome and yeah i hope he will do more his own thing in the sequel. Stray away from Donner a bit. He's said he'll use more from the comics so we'll see.:yay:

retroman you are so good that i think you will find the krypton scene on the net heehheheh

I found the credits to the Requiem for Krypton making of Superman on DVD to be far far far better overall in terms of storytelling and format than what we got in the theaters... wtf is wrong with Singer, half of his decisions really make no damn sense.

i think the title credits from the making of krypton and the curtain from Tristan reading. would have been a lot better

Wow Retro, great find. That is the credits that I was hearing about originally. Damn.

Not a fan of these credits, as much as I didnt like the thrid rock from the sun background, I like them better than this.

^Well keep in mind that those are just early concept designs. For example, note that the S appears more like the classic version, rather than the one in the movie. The *actual* sequence would have looked very different, this was just to give you an idea of what they were going for.

Yep, these designs have almost nothing to do with what Digital Kitchen delivered to Singer for the "Friends and Family" screening (which can be see partially in the beginning of the Requiem for Krypton documentary).

that ''friends and family'' screening was a mistake IMHO.I heard that is pretty much why we got the cut we did..he should have gotten strangers, half of em' fans, and half non-fans.

^One of the reasons why Singer shouldn't be associated with another Superman movie ever again.

I've not seen Requiem for krypton yet as i've not recieved my Ultimate set so i haven't been able to see that credits sequence you're talking about.

Don't agree with that but i do think one of their mistakes was to cut the RTK sequence.A big waste IMO.Everyone one here was looking forward to that and they nixed it.

Thats true.

The \S/ METROPOLIS one looks very interesting

well,I just think he should be confident enough to let strangers view it.I still think he'll do a god job on the sequel though....:yay:
