This thread is not meant to go here, but trying to get a fast reply in the mircosoft section takes forever. I need some fast replies because if I can't get this working, I'm returning it. Plus I need people who know a good deal about imacs too, just incase the it's a firewall problem. So forgive me, sweet mods.

Just bought a new Xbox and it won't let me on live, it's connected, everything works fine, but it keeps saying update when it gets to the Xbox Live part, so I click yes, but the update fails. I had a 360 before and it worked(only difference is, I've got an imac this time around). I'm running the connection straight from the modem into the 360.

My answer is buy a PS3 :hehe:

When I call Xbox live, I just get someone saying ''the never you have dialed has been changed?

I want to know why is it that when I press 1 for English I still can't understand the B itch on the other side.

my guess now is changing the settings for the firewall on my modem..How to do that on the mac is my next problem.

It sounds like your internet connection is the problem, not the 360.

Any tips on what I should do?

When I go to network settings I test the connetion

Adaptor working
Ip address working
DNS working
MTU working

XBOXLIVE That's when the message to update comes up and I have to click yes. From there it fails to do so :(

funny, i never had an issue with my PS3 when it comes to going online

Yeah with my Ps3 you just plug in the network cable and BAM! your online, **** paying and arsing about with live ;)

360 has a wider/better selection of games :ninja: That being said, the few PS3 games I've seen and played, I loved. Spoons has a 360 but also a PS3, and I play it whenever I'm at his house.

i dont care if the 360 have a bigger collection of games, i love my PS3 because i dont have to play squat like online or a blu-ray external dive

Oddly, the blu-ray was never a selling point for me. I just care about the games...I'm fine with my plain ole dvd's :O /unsophisticated

I could play Little Big Planet all day
