Sony will be releasing Spyglass’ horror romantic comedy Heart Eyes on February 7, 2025, the studio said Wednesday.

The Josh Ruben-directed movie stars Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding and Gigi Zumbado with Devon Sawa and Jordana Brewster. Pic’s blurb: When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes Seattle, a pair of co-workers pulling overtime on Valentine’s Day are mistaken for a couple by the elusive couple-hunting killer. Now they must spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.

Script is by Phillip Murphy, Christopher Landon & Michael Kennedy. Landon and Divide/Conquer’s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks are producing. Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Chris Stone serve as executive producers alongside Mel Turner, Murphy and Kennedy.

Looks neat, the mask design is pretty cool.

It shouldn’t still be a surprise ever since Jordan Peele proved how strong the comedy to horror pipeline is, but it’s still wild to me to see guys from College Humor (and The Whitest Kids U Know, in Zach Cregger’s case) making their mark directing horror.

I may be rusty on my slasher tropes but I don't recall seeing many hero couples as the leads in these movies.

Ugh. To go from a trailer for your film dropping to this in less than a week…

I can see the design of the killers mask getting over with audiences, might be enough to make this a minor hit.

I didn't realize this was directed by the guy who did Werewolves Within... I'm so super excited.

I'm already seated for Thursday night.

It’s definitely a movie that understood the assignment. Rom-com/slasher mix with likeable, funny characters and a cool killer. A little too Scream-lite for me in terms of the ending, but I had a lot of fun with it overall.

Heart Eyes > The Terrifier franchise and it ain't even close. This will probably sit comfortably as my favorite neo slasher to date. 9/10.

I mean both are operating on completely different levels of horror but sure.

Haven't seen Heart Eyes yet but your average high school kids with a camcorder make better movies than Terrifier. Rock stupid, lowest common denominator embodiment of everything base and boring about the genre - not surprised at all to recently learn they're made by a cretinous moron.

One actually understood the assignment. The other is an over indulgent half-assed rubber mess in dire need of a real director and editor.

Both understood the assignment, it's just you prefer one to the other and that's okay.

New age slasher aka slashers of the Scream variety.
