Venom Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Based on the post credits to this movie, Kevin Feige will be asked about it when interviews promoting Eternals start up soon. His comments will be interesting,

Something I want to mention, not sure if anyone has broached this yet...

How will Venom behave now that he's in the MCU? I highly doubt he'll be eating any brains given how kid-friendly the MCU is.

I really enjoyed this movie. Only disappointing part was I wish they went a little more zany and corny with Carnage. Venom and Eddie's relationship continues to be a delight though.

I imagine his comments will be something along the lines of “wait they did WHAT?!”

Is there any way Feige did not know about the post-credits? He has to know right?

I imagine it was one of their demands in the re-negotiation.

It’s not THAT kid friendly now. You can still have death and cuss words . Venom will act the same. He’s not all that dark now.

Are we sure Venom is in the mcu now, for we all know Tom Holland is transported elsewhere in No Way Home.

You haven't seen the movie, have you? Venom is clearly transported to the MCU. The environment around him glitches and he goes from a crappy hotel room to a different and much better one with the news cast on the TV. The implication could not be more clear

I have seen the post credits scene the other day. It Still doesn't confirm which world he's in, given there's also multiverse happening in No Way Home.

I think you are in denial my friend. There is literally only 1 way to read that scene

Can we all agree on one thing, though? Michelle Williams--in both movies-- has this total "wtf am i doing here?" look on here face in every scene. :funny::funny:

This movie wasn't quite as good as I wished, Woody as Cleytus wasn't as wild as I would have liked, yet after reading a lot of reviews on how bad the movie is, how very early 2000s it feels like, turns out it's pretty ok. It's not amazing, but it's also absolutely not as bad as people claim it to be and Venom's conversations with Eddie were hilarious.

I liked the first one more. I thought it flowed better.

I appreciated how straightforward this was, the short runtime and I can accept this franchise knows what is and doesn't shy away from it, but most of it didn't really work for me.

I thought they did a good job with Carnage though. His "entrance" was the best part of the movie

The mid credit scene was best thing about this horror show wow thus was bad the whole 3 stooges act of Eddie and Brock I don't care for it ,the less said about what they did to carnage the better. The club scene was particularly bad. what a waste of Woody talent.

Considering both Venom movies have been rated PG-13 just like the MCU movies, I don’t think there will be any issues at all

Re: box office

What a pleasant surprise this opening weekend was! Not saying I wasn't expecting it to do well - clearly people were always going to show up in big numbers for it - but the end result was fairly surprising.

Nothing more so than Saturday - it was a stellar Saturday indeed. Only a 15% drop from opening Friday and the increase from TRUE Friday was actually better than the first movie! I could have bought that the OW would increase from the first, as a lot of blockbuster sequels do, but I thought it would have come in the form of a huge frontloaded opening day and steeper drops on Saturday and Sunday. The way this weekend played out boasts well for legs, which, yes, will still be cut short because of competition, but might be a little bit better than we might have expected.

Lastly, if anything perfectly illustrates what happened to Black Widow, it's the Saturday performance of this movie. I'm probably beating a dead horse here, but BW really suffered from Premier Access when it plummeted on Saturday. MCU movies are usually the opposite: they have very strong Saturdays.

Anyway, good to see studios getting rewarded for their faith in theatrical releases. It's just not the same watching some of these movies - at least for the first time - on your TV at home.

This is seriously overperforming besting even the more optimistic projections. I think if Morbius behaves as strong as this, Sony might begin to have a second thought of exploring moving forward without MCU and split off Spider-Man completely after the current arrangement expires whatever it is.
