No it's not at the top of the list, but I think it's important to note its not at the bottom either. It was a pretty refreshing monster anti-hero flick that I think would be welcome in the MCU since the absence of an Incredible Hulk sequel.

Came in the thread to see if it was a Venom VS Hulk thread. Disappointed. I think Venom could give the Hulk a run for his money in a toe to toe fight. Venom was very much an MCU tone film. Close to Doctor Strange in its balance of humour with dark themes

There isn't a single mcu that isn't better than venom. And did you seriously put it above TFA? Are you kidding me. TFA is a movie, not a series of tonal ups and downs.

Among professional critics, no doubting that.
More often than not I find myself agreeing with the critical consensus but it is not the be all end all, neither when I am aligned with it nor when I don't.

The only MCU film that I might rank lower than Venom is Thor: The Dark World, which I found to be really boring and tedious to sit through.

Venom is a really bad movie, but it's laughable and entertaining.

Otherwise Venom is very weak next to the MCU.

Common or not, still an opinion. Personally, yeah Venom is not as good as any MCU film in my estimation. But other people are allowed to feel differently. You need to start taking these things less personally, amigo. You're way too triggered by contrary opinions. Especially in regards to this movie.

Tastes are quite interesting. I mean, I will put a movie that I thoroughly enjoyed (Venom) over a movie I hated (Infinity War). But again, I don't put my opinion as the definitive opinion, since I also put Ghost Rider 2 over most of the phase 2 and 3 MCU films.

There is zero up and down in tfa. It has an Indiana Jones vibe from beginning to end. It never tried to be saving private Ryan. It's very evident what it wanted to be unlike venom where some parts resemble gritty sci-fi thriller and some others resemble an Adam Sandler comedy.

Life is too short and hard to worry to like the "right" things. You like what you like, period.

In MY opinion, I had more fun watching this movie then a couple of the MCU movies. I'm not saying it's necessarily a "better" film. But as far as having a good time? Much so. Probably will watch this a couple of more times. There's some MCU movies I just have no desire to rewatch.

I'd say venom's better than thor the dark world and on par with the incredible hulk. Every other MCU film wipes the floor with it imo
