a funny wisecrack would be for venom to say , "honey, im home":woot:.
That would be quite pathetic. And the scary thing is, you actually found it funny.

If you knew anything about Venom jackass he actually says that to mj in his 1st appearance and that is one of venoms classic lines.

exactly.

It does say do not make any more Venom threads
It actually says do not make any more, which is pretty vague. So it could mean do not make anymore official Venom threads.

Also spideyssuperfan is right. This isn't a thread about Venom, its a thread about wisecracks. And I don't see anybody discussing Venom wisecracks on the offical Venom thread, so I really don't understand what the problem is.

This is a lot different then the Spidey Quips, so I will allow it. Get back to the thread topic, though or I'll shut it all down

If Venom says more quips than Spidey, I will shoot Raimi (that doesn't mean i don't want quips from Venom, but Spidey needs to get the 'quips')

Agree, but movie Spidey has been relatively unfunny. I don't know the Spider-man universe very well, so can somebody answer this? Canon Spidey is famously witty, but I don't think Eddie Brock is known as being funny. So does Venom get his wit from Spidey via the symbiote? And the wit is made darker/creepier by the merging of two darkish entities? (I thought that only Spidey's physical powers were copied)? Otherwise, where does the wit come from? Thanks in advance to people more knowledgeable about this than me. :yay:

I thought Venom mostly said he wanted to eat Spidey's spleen ;)

(When Venom's captured Gwen)

"You really should keep your private life more of a secret, Parker. But don't take it from me--after all...*gets right in his face* I wanna eat your brains!"

i hope he doesnt even talk when he's venom. i just hope he snarls and drools and growls, lol

Nah, not too much, but I wouldn't mind him sayin' a lil sum' sum'.

A distorted Topher voice, that would be cool. I also really want to see some of Eddie in the suit, but with Eddie's head, not Venom.

venom should atleast say somethings, even though hes in the movie for the last 10 minutes, he talked in the comics, why not have him talk in spidey3.

Having Venom speak is one thing, but I don't know about these wisecracks. I'd like to see more of that from Spidey.

All the wisecracks from the PS1 game are good. I wouldn't mind hearing any of those.

But, if he does, a nice wisecrack would be "The itsy-bitsy spider walked up the water spout. Down came the venom and knocked the spider out." Yea I know it was unoriginal.

Unoriginal because Gobby used that line in the first movie...

:o

With these two finally going at it on film, anyone any suggestions as to how they're gonna approach the choreography of the fights? Do you think the current Spidey choreography that we've seen in the previous 2 films will cut it?

Obviously, these two guys move in such a unique way, most would think that CGI would possibly be the only way; however, I've just watched a film called 'District 13' and some of the stunts in it are so amazing, I doubt even Tony Jaa and Jackie Chan (in his hayday) could perform some the stuff displayed in this film. The acrobatics in small environments just screamed 'that's how Spidey would move' to me whe I was watching the film. I truly havent seen anyone as agile.

Anyone seen it? It really has to be seen to be believed. No wire- work, all natural movement.

EDIT: (Link to another scene) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjCZ7typIOQ

They could use some of these 'Le Parkour' guys (particularly David Belle - the guy being chased in the scene linked above)) as stunt doubles (obviously used along with CGI for those times when Spidey is called upon to truly do something that no human could possibly do)

Any thoughts?

"As a child have you ever tried pulling the legs off a spider, Parker?!!! I'll show you how it's done!!!"
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

It's kind of a challenge to do a fight like this correctly onscreen.

Obviously there can't be too much of a "kung-fu" feel to the way Spidey and Venom fight, so the traditional Hong Kong style wirework and movements won't work.

However, Spidey and Venom do have superhuman agility and strength, so there needs to be some sense of the fact that they are jumping around and punching in a way that is superhuman.

HOWEVER (again), care needs to be taken so that any CG-enhanced fighting sequences don't end up looking too video game-like. If the audience gets the idea that Spidey and Venom are just CGi characters bouncing around digitally like something out of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, it ruins the sense of any real physical danger onscreen.

agreed, well said lizard

i think this is a good thread, its nice to see something new and creative these days (as we wait until the next trailer for things to talk about). i think this thread could not only survive, but really be stepped up by posting pictures from the comics of spidey venom fight scenes as well as maybe some youtube videos of spidey/venom fights from TAS. that would really be great.
