Videogame coming out Sep 2010

Oooohhhh, it's a side scroller eh? Interesting, kind of looks like the 90's TAS SNES game. Looks like a really simple and primitive beat 'em up, but I like the cartoon look and may be able to have some fun with this game.

Yeah but thats what you get for caring for youtube. :p Ignorance breeds intolerance my friend.

Yeah you're right it just baffles me that in this day and age of the internet one can just search the right info w/ just a button and yet... Glad we know better. ;) And someone ought to show Dark-mite's quote in "legends of the dark-mite" every time someone attacks TB&TB.

I know to each his own but prejudice is another sad story...

Well i'm happy to see that people who know Wayforward Technologies are being supportive for this game. These guys made Boy & his Blob (Wii, 80% on metacritic) and Contra 4 (Nintendo DS, 83% on metacritic) so these guys should be trustworthy.

Also, i didn't even realized at 1st that i was looking at the game play until i saw certain effects like the "2x" it looks so good looks exactly like the animation of the series!

Are those screenshots from the game?

Awesome! Too bad my video game money is going to Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Maybe I'll pull some extra hours at work and pick this up too. Wii games are usually $30-40, right? Of course I'll have to wait until the next time I'm at brother's house to use the Wii and have a proper partner.

...Yeah, I think I'll end up buying it! I love side scrollers and I'm hoping this game will be like the old SNES and Sega Batman:TAS games.

A Batman platformer!

That's something for me, more important than "Arkham Asylum 2" :cwink:

will wildcat be among the playable heroes?

I think it's only Blue Beetle, Robin, and Hawkman that are playable. Too bad Wildcat isn't among them, he'd certainly be appropriate for a side scrolling beat em' up. Odd that they put Hawkman in given that he hasn't appeared much in the show. You'd think they'd have saved a spot for Plastic Man, Green Arrow, or Aquaman since they're regulars on the show.

no apperance of the big A?OUTRAGEOUS

If I recall correctly he'll still appear in the game but as NPC you call in for an assist from time to time. It's odd that you can't play as him but it would be, as you said, OUTRAGEOUS, for him not to be in the game at all.

I'd like to say that I'm a big fan of the Wii's Batman: The Brave and the Bold game, with it's crisp, classic 2D action, and incredible production values that makes the experience like playing an ink-and-paint cartoon. The whipcrack dialogue and sense of adventure helped get me into the cartoon when I had previously rejected it as Adam West fluff, and I inevitably stumbled upon those screenshots of Batman as a armored, sword-wielding medieval knight (haven't watched the episode yet). I of course thought in passing how cool it would be to play as Knight Batman, though even I'm not so petty as to let the lack of such a thing ruin the game for me, when I already have the Belt Sword. But, lo and behold, there's actually a code that lets you play as the sweet Knight Batman; it changes your Belt sword into the Knight Sword and everything.

This is the kind of giddy fanservice you don't always get from games, where the developers have their fingers on the pulse on what's cool and pull out all the stops. As much as I've been been ragging on the Young Justice series everywhere, I think it's time for me to let loose a smile for such a great idea.

anyone have this game? saw it at wal-mart for $19 and started to pick it up but thought I'd check with the experts! haha

I have it. If you're a fan of the show and classic side-scroller games then you'll love it. I highly recommend playing with a friend. I posted this in the general discussion thread awhile back:

There are four episodes, each episode has a teaser followed by the show's opening credits and original animation, 1-2 minutes long, before the start of the stage. Batman teams up with Robin in Gotham, Blue Beetle on Science Island, Hawkman in London , and Guy Gardner on different alien planets.

The dialogue in this game is great, not only in the little cut scenes but also throughout each level. Batman and Robin are constantly exchanging witty remarks back and forth, Batman teaches Blue Beetle lessons on being a hero, Hawkman deals with aging while Batman gushes about being inspired by him as a child, and Guy Gardner deals with his anger issues. It's a little corny but in a good way, and a lot of it is legitimately funny. It's very well written and seems like it's straight out of the show. All the characters have their TV voice actors providing the dialogue.

The game play is pretty simple beat em' up style. Batman has a variety of gadgets that you unlock as you go, the other characters have weapons, gadgets, or powers at the start. The thugs and minions are somewhat diverse. You shake the Wii mote for heavy attacks, for charge up attacks, and assists.

I read reviews that said the game was short but it really wasn't. There are only four stages but they're broken up into levels that are all relatively long. I would have appreciated another two episodes with one of them involving all the heroes in the same stage. Overall it's a really fun game that is definitely worth a buy if you have a Wii and love the show. Overall I'd give it a B+.
