Who do you think could be the villain for a theoretical fourth Captain America movie? :cap:

Madame Hydra and the Serpent Society.

IMO it would be very nice to bring Zemo back.
Maybe he can Team up this time with another one or get powered himself.

I liked his tactical thinking.

The depressive Sokovian ridiculously overcompetent plot-stupidity-inducing spook can stay away.

Wasn't the Mad Bomb considered for Cap 3? So maybe that's what Cap 4 will be...

I definitely agree Zemo. He should suit up and lead a team against Cap. Maybe the "Thunderbolts"

Cap himself, do the Hydra agent storyline. Bucky and Falcon have to team-up and put aside their differences to stop/save Cap.

I doubt there will even be a Captain America 4, unless either the Winter Soldier or The Falcon take on the mantle.

Hatemonger may be a great way to handle Trump without handling Trump outright. If we're still in Haterica, hopefully not, by the time it comes out. With Trump's xenaphobia and spreading it - Cap's needed now more than ever.

Tbh I have a feeling Trump will be the ultimate meta Captain America villain, because I don't think international audience are gonna humor the idea of Cap anymore.

Any villain really can't be decided until after IFW and we see where Cap is left. In previous movies the villain always ran in line with his story.

TFA: Caps wants to be a soldier and fight Nazis. Red Skull fits that Black and white setup.
TA: Cap is faced with another very black and white threat in the Chitauri/Loki.
TWS: Cap now tries to get back in the game only to find it much less black and white. To that end he must fight his best friend.
CW: Fallout from TWS & AoU has left Cap feeling torn. He's trying to do right by a friend and runs afoul of another. In doing so he realizes that maybe compromise and grey areas aren't something he's comfortable with. Zemo is pretty much just the guy stirring the pot and facilitating the grey.
IFW: Presumably will present another very black and white threat to draw him out.
Post IFW: It's tough to say whether or not Cap will be in the game or not. We know he doesn't trust government. Any villain would have to essentially draw him out of hiding. Red Skull might be a good fit here. It would be a threat Cap has intimate knowledge of and be a reason for him to be sought by the government.

Well I have no idea how we jumped from Cap villains in the comics to Trump...But I suppose we could make a Trump-like villain in the next movie :whatever:

Red Skull, though. C'mon, he is definitely not dead! As far as the Hydra agent Cap idea...eh, I'm not thrilled about it, however it could be a potential idea to have the Red Skull somehow control Steve from the starry abyss we left him at in TFA.

I would like to see something along the lines of "The Death of Captain America" comics where Steve is murdered and Bucky would take over the mantle. Maybe the movie could be titled "Captain America: Fallen Son."

Which begs the question...IF there had to be a new Captain America...Bucky or Falcon?? I say Bucky.

It would be something if they brought Red Skull back for the 4th film but it would obviously have to be a re-cast especially if Hugo Weaving doesn't want to come back

It has to be the serpent society surely. Although hydra cap is intriguing. I don't really like how it's played out in the comics but maybe the movie could do it better. Maybe replace the actual hydra cap with Nuke?

Yes I like that idea. But who could play Nuke?

Yeah, we already have a Nuke. I can't see Nuke really being the anchor of a movie, though.

Serpent Society definitely has to be the way to go then

Jessica Jones. He was a major supporting character/secondary villain.

What about the Grand Director? I feel like he's a better metaphor for Trumpism than Hate Monger. The man who took over for Cap during the Korean War is unfrozen and sees what's become of his country. Pride parades, interracial couples holding hands in public, protesters in the streets, legal pornography, immigrants speaking Japanese on their cell phones on buses, women running companies. It's a terrifying and alien land and he can save America by returning it to the values he grew up with. To make America the type of place where you can wave the Confederate Flag around without people giving you dirty looks. He was put in a cryo tank until the day when he'd be needed again and the military need a Captain America who they can control. Steve Rogers is deemed a loose cannon and is no longer able to use the name Captain America anymore.

And then Will Burnside rebels because he doesn't believe in this, "new America." The military avoid calling up Steve Rogers and instead name John Walker as the new Captain America. Walker winds up getting captured and slowly won over to Burnside's cause while Steve as a rogue agent takes down the Grand Director and the now radicalized Walker with the help of Falcon, Winter Soldier and Agent Sharon Carter. Steve is arrested ironically for being a vigilante but has fallen madly in love with Sharon who is now pregnant.

Post-credits... Crossbones somehow came back to life and shoots Steve Rogers to death.
