Looks like this one will be Carlton Drake as the villain. I am thinking Carnage will be set-up for a sequel. Which on one hand I think is lame because of the obvious, what if there IS no sequel!!!!

Maybe they'll set up 6 villains at the end of this movie for future sequels, all of which may never materialise.

They should simply have a proper villain in the first movie, given that there's no certainty of a sequel with this one.

I already will say my 100% biggest issue with the movie is the fact we have a CEO villain. Not making Carnage the villain is a giant misstep. CEOs in these movies are so cliche.

Especially when we just had Nolan Sorrento in Ready Player One and Malin Akerman in Rampage. They're all over the place.

Though after The Dark Knight Rises and Ready Player One, I guess we should just be thankful for the tiny speck of variety that the evil CEO isn't being played by Ben Mendelsohn for the third time considering he's the bad guy in every movie right now.

Seems like it's going to be Bad vs Evil with Venom vs the Life foundation symbiotes.

Although I think it would be pretty cool if Silver Sable and the wildpack popped up as antagonists to clean up the Life foundations mess.

Maybe even a hint at Kraven. Not suggesting a bloated cast of course, but even a mention of them would be cool world building.

Isn’t it rumoured that Woody Harrelson is playing Carnage? If so I hope they don’t pull a Green Goblin in AS2 where he becomes Green Goblin for a tacked on action scene at the end.

Woody isn't in the trailer at all, which could indicate that he's the real villain (Carnage/Cassidy) and they're waiting until the final trailer to reveal that.

Or it could just be that he has a tiny part as Eddie's dead father or something.
