Guess I should have posted this here to begin with:

I know Superherohype is the most careful of all sites as far as checking sources, so I know to take this with a grain of salt....but has anyone come across this? It claims to know the villains for the next movie and cites the original source who squealed about Venom.

Just reporting what I just found.

I read that back in may.I really doubt it's true.But at this point I really think The Lizard is a given for Spider-man 4.

A serial killer in Spider-Man, I can't even see JJJ announcing that in the Daily Bugle. Unfortunately, Marvel/Sony caters too much towards the bastard children and soccer moms, to introduce a man with a lust for dead bodies and blood.

And the thought of having another symbiote character and Black Cat in SM4 sickens me. Two non-classic, non-Stan Lee created villains. THE LIZARD (main villain), KRAVEN or ELECTRO--are the only villians that should be considered for SM4. With ONLY TWO villains, NOT THREE.

And the source for leaking Venom was Kirsten.

Too typical... what's it gonna be this time? Lizard saving Spidey from Carnage? The characters will never blend... just get Kraven in this already and be done with it...

well...okay,...whatever.....again just reporting on something I found. The little things that whet one's appetite, you know.

this report came out i believe the day after spider-man 3 came out so even if that was what sony was thinking then there is a ton of time to change their minds

Screw that.....Bring in Kraven and leave Carnage in comics. A serial killer with a symbiote..Give me a break.

I would rather Raimi, even though I don't really like his sensibilities for Spider-Man, to do something he feels comfortable with. I can just hear the conversation that persuaded him to use Venom.

<and.... action>

Avi Arad: Sams. I want you to use zis Venom. The keeds will love it.

Raimi: Uh,...I don't really feel comfortable doing it. I don't really know it. It was after my era and I didn't like McFarland's art anyway. I like and know Ditko, Romita, Ross Andru....little Gil Kane in there. That's what I'm comfortable with.

Besides,...I don't think I can do it justice. It doesn't fit in this movie.

Arad: Sams,...it will..I mean,...it vill work....and it doesn't matter if you do it well or not. Zees kids today will love it. Trusz me.

<end scene>
I fear this next one will get a similar treatment.

If you're a serious Spider-Man fan, you've probably been wondering when the producers were gonna dust off Dylan Baker and FINALLY let him become the super-villain we've all been waiting for. Yes, newbies, the one-armed college professor who appears in all three Spider-Man films (for about 90 seconds at a time) is the guy who eventually gets turned into man-sized Lizard with a true hatred for Spider-Man. I'm assuming Sam Raimi wedged the character into the first two films, hoping to deliver a pay-off in Spider-Man 3, but I guess that flick was just too damn cluttered with other baddies.

According to one source, not only will Baker finally become The Lizard in Spider-Man 4, but we'll also have to contend with a certain villain known as Carnage. Spider-Man 4 would have to go a little bit "darker" than its predecessors to accurately capture the Carnage story, which focuses on a serial killer called Cletus Kasady who comes into contact with some of Eddie Brock's "symbiote" goo while they're both stuck in prison. (Connors, on the other hand, becomes Lizard after injecting himself with reptilian DNA in an effort to re-grow his missing arm.)

FreezeDriedMovies.com claims that these scoops come from the same source that gave them the Venom scoop a while back, so hopefully both villain reports are accurate. Apparently there's also talk of getting Black Cat into the Spider-Man 4 mix, because if a record-breaking opening weekend tells you one thing, it's that you can never have too many villains in your Spidey sequels.

And....

Scoop from an ex-employee of Sony Pictures - Spider-man 4 will feature The Lizard and Carnage. Raimi will come back and this will be the LAST one. The meeting that the execs have with Raimi is to discuss the casting of the Kassidy role, and yes - Topher Grace is coming back as VENOM! Say what you want, but YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! JUNE 30TH, 2010…

It may be the last one with Raimi and company (and personally I'd like to see a whole new team, new direction, new sensibilities...less blubbering and ferit faced crying) but I can't see them possibly quitting at 4. Not while they're making such huge numbers. WB has Potter. Sony's not giving up on this yet.

No either SM3 is gonna be Raimi and co. last movie or SM6 will. There not gonna bring them back for one movie and then quit. Sony would want to keep them for the next 3 movies. So there either all coming back for 3 more movies or they start with a new team immedialty with SM4.

Are you sure that Venom is going to be in the fourth? Wonder how the writers will be able to do that? :huh:

What the **** is Sony drinking???? Carnage AND Black Cat??? Grace returning as VENOM??? Are they serious??? SM4 to be the last??? Let's hope the source is poop.

I want Lizard and Kraven in the fourth film so bad.

I'm saying the same thing my 11 month old says when we give him spinach and turkey baby food....Eccccchhhhh.

Start anew.

Enough with the "poor Peter is a loser,...let's get a close up of Toby making ugly faces, accentuating the fact that he's a loser and have him cry", way that they're doing these movies. I really think he's getting paid by the ugly face. About three a movie.

If they go with Carnage its gonna be so typical... Gwen is gonna get killed off in the first half hour... Lizard will target Carnage as will Spiderman... and if Venom comes back... its gonna be another tag team... I don't see how they can possibly bring Topher back no matter how well written

The villains are going to be the Vulture and the Spot.

There's no way Sam will agree to Carnage and he shouldn't. I like Carnage, but Sam would do him no better - and possibly worse - than he did Venom. Sam should only agree to work with the classic characters that he appreciates. But I can see Arad pressuring him, once again, to use a character (in this case, Carnage) he thinks has young male demo appeal.

Then I will have to stop Avi Arad from ever mentioning non-classic and non-Stan Lee created villains like Carnage and Black Cat ever again...

*puts on ninja suit*

:mad:
