simple question...is there a link to violence in todays teens and videogames..u be the judges....i look forward to disgussing this with the many of u.

Some grammer structure might help.

But anyways, I don't think it does. I play games but they don't make me nuts{that just comes naturally:D}.

No, but there is a direct link between parental neglect and violence.

lol...i dont have a problem with my grammer...its just easier to be lazy and spell everything wrong...but anyways..i totally agree..i started playing mortal kombat when it first came out in like...wat was it..'92? and i was like 4 or 5 back then...i dont have any violent tendencies other then my facination with knives...lol..its not really a violent facination though i just like collecting them

thats true...lol..if parents dont teach their kids at a young age that its wrong ot hit and just look the other way then eventually those parents will in fact end up noticing that the kid is commiting violent crimes by like...age 9 or something..ya know

lol...i only started this thread cuz i was bored and wanna get my post count up so i can get an avatar...lol..but my slow ass computer wont let me join the lounge cuz there are too many ppl on there for my computer to keep up with it

If a kid plays GTA and does something stupid then that's the parent's fault for letting their kids play that game. It bluntly states on the box that it's a mature title. Hell, at my video store they even put a note on the box saying no one under 18 can rent the game.

i thought they did that at every one of those stores liek that...atleast the ones ive been to...hell even the normal stores that sell video games put all the mature titles in a seperate case that says games contain mature content must be 18+ to buy these games

In some cases, yes. In some cases , no.

These hardcore rappers and video game companies always want to throw up their hands in innocence. But the fact is this: Even though they didn't "start the fire" per se, they are guilty of walking by it, while squirting lighter fluid.....

They already know a problem exists. But they only care about what sells. So instead of putting out a more positive and uplifting product (water) they keep putting out the (gasoline) violent content and borderline porn. Thus enraging the already existing fire even more.

Parents bare most of the responsibility. But as a society, we all should do our parts to help parents out so that we produce good citizens.

No. If you can't tell the difference between a game and reality than you shouldn't be playing in the first place.

There is a link between kids seeing violence too early in their lives and actual violence, yes indeed. However, if VGs didn't exist, there are countless other ways: movies, books, the internet etc..that kids can view inappropriate material. I don't play VGs but I doubt they are any worse than a Frank Miller movie/novel. Ultimately, it does come down to parents and other responsible adults keeping violence images away from kids until they are old enough to understand the gravity of it. There are too many adults out there who think that video games ( and comics ) are still the mild, 1980s versions. That's not so.

The only area in which I've had a problem with the VG industry is arcades. Those places are a haven for young people and most VGs are appropriate. Yet I've seen violence VGs in the middle of them and that is irresponsible. I'm not sure if only the specific arcade is blame or if the VG producers do/should have control over where arcade games are placed.

Alot of people who go on about Video games being "evil" or "corrupting our youth" are looking for a scapegoat. They don't want to take responsibility for the way that thier kids act and blame a medium that has millions of others totally unaffected by the same content. If the child is brought up around violence and hate then he/she expects that to be an acceptable way of life and will continue to act in that way. If the child is brought up knowing the difference between real life and games and movies then they are much like likely to be a nutjob and start shooting people if he has a bad day.
