Hey, I thought I would start a thread relating to the voice acting in the movie. Looks like Corey Burton is not interested in playing Shockwave in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". Considering he has played Shockwave in almost every game and cartoon related to the Transformers, I would suspect he doesn't care for Michael Bay.

Not surprising considering the atrocity of celluloid that Bay committed with the second movie. Good for Burton for standing to his principles when he gets plenty of work elsewhere doing much superior material.

Don't know why they couldn't even do the cool Soundwave voice effect in the second movie. It was in Transformers: War for Cybertron. Not hard to do.

He also did not reprise it for War for Cybertron (although was eventually signed on to do a commercial for it), so it's doubtful it has to do with Bay. He did audition for Jazz in the first movie, and was declined the role, so that probably has more to do with it. Burton has stated he doesn't like auditioning for one time gigs, whereas in Animated he got a ton of work. Plus they're getting David Warner to voice Shockwave, and Burton apparently knew this when they asked him to audition. Considering Shockwave is Burton's David Warner impersonation, maybe it's not that shocking he turned it down.

what are you doing Optimus Prime
it's clear this actor hates michael bay as much as we all do, moreover it's clear that's why he turned down the role

it's clear,
what you're saying is just groundless (no doubt bias) opinion
:whatever:

For those who don't know who'll [more than likely] be playing Shockwave it's this man voicing Ra's Al Ghul in the clip below

Don't forget that James "Uncle Phil" Avery is voicing a character in the film. He was originally rumored to be voicing Silverbolt, but there are newer rumors that popped up saying he might voice Sentinel Prime, which would be awesome.

Reno Wilson is possibly voicing the small robot known as "Brains". Reno Wilson was also the robot Frenzy in the first Transformers movie & Mudflap in Transformers 2.
