Volume 4: Fugitives Speculation

I wonder if Sylar is really dead? He got stabbed in the back of the head and the building was burnt down. Would he brain be completely destroyed by the fire?

You'd think. But no.

Sylar is still alive, will always be alive, and will never ever be shown up by any characters, let alone the ones that are much better than him.

Haha yeah, Sylar being alive in volume 4 is just stupid. Claire "killed" him. They should have immediately chopped his head off or put a bullet trough his head. I wonder what excuse they have for not finishing the job, again.

And now that i think about, why didn't Claire just shoot him in the head. She had a freakin' shotgun, she shot the telephone because he was on the other end but when she actually sees him she puts the gun down and shoves a piece of glass in his head. Yeah that totally makes sense :whatever:

Maybe it was because the place was going to go boom.

Because she needs the object at a specific part of the brain. Shotguns aren't especially renowned for their accuracy or penetration power, especially if they were using shots.

Still, putting a bullet trough his head would have only taken seconds. And shotguns may not be renowned for accuracy but they sure as hell blow your whole freakin head off. That part in his brain that needs to be destroyed would have been destroyed. It's stupid that the characters don't finish the job. He has terrorized them so many times already and yet no one ever really makes sure that he is dead.

If it was an actual bullet (e.g. using a rifle), then maybe. But she was using a shotgun, which likely infers that shot was used, in which case penetration power may not be too great (depending on what kind of shot was being used). Just because you get shot by a shotgun doesn't mean you get blown to bits. They're fairly survivable, especially in comparison to rifles. If you don't believe me, just ask Dick Cheney. :woot:

Didn't Sylar take the shotgun away when he snuck up behind her, that's why she had to jump through the glass instead of just shooting it

It's not season four, it's Volume 4. It's still season 3

Well they better finish Vol. 4 in season 3 so we don't have to wait months to find out what happens.

i'm pretty sure they will finish out vol. 4 in season 3 unless the show gets canceled...

and they probably will have a cliffhanger to start Vol 5...

My main speculation for volume 4 is that it will suck and wont make sense just like the last two seasons.

Season Two made sense and was far more logical, coherent, and believable then the mess we got for this volume.

I saw where the story as going eventually, but unfortunately the writers strike scraped it. They should have picked up from there an continued what was scrapped instead of trying to start brand new.

I was one of Season 2's biggest critics, but looking back on it in comparison to the mess that was this season, it's by far the superior chapter. Season 2 had its flaws, its biggest being lack of interaction between characters and dragging on certain storylines that could've been wrapped in a single episode or two (Hiro in Japan), but overall, it's a much more cohesive volume than the mess that was this season.

Yeah. It might have sucked.... but at least it didn't try to trash all the good things that have existed in the series so far.

Well we already know Nathan will def be the main villain of the next Volume. Some Heroes get caught. My guess is Peter sneaks into the prision which is why he's dressed as a cop in one of the promos. He's probaly going to be the one to rescue them or at least some of them. Man yah I hope Nathan gets killed, he's such a jerk. what confused me was the ending of Volume 3, he tolled the president he had a plan already to get rid of them but it was terminated but his plan was to give powers to every one not get rid of them. Awe well, I'm still excited for Volume 4. Yes I hope Syler is not dead, its not his fault he is the way he is, I want him to get revenge on Mrs.P and Claire. I'd also like to see more Peter/Syler interaction in the next one.

Nathan's already died and survived inexplicably twice. I think hoping that this time they'll leave him dead is naive. Possible, perhaps, but naive. He's just as unkillable as Sylar, I think.

Despite Nathan's transition into villain being horribly executed, I still think he can be written as a compelling "villain". Don't write him as being dark and sinister. Portray him as being genuine in his beliefs that supers do more harm than good.

It's just that simple.

Nathan's belief that heroes do more harm than good vs. Peter's beliefs that heroes can and will make the world better. Have all the other characters ultimately exist as reinforcements to each side's arguments while giving them depth by adding in one-shot stories along the lines of Company Man and secondary story arcs that further their development. Throw in the 3rd party human element, and you can't lose.

Who am I kidding? This writing team could still ruin that angle.

Even if they don't ruin it, they can't outdo X-Men running that same exact play for the last 40 years.

I think that's a great idea. Plus, Fuller is coming back and (correct me if I'm wrong) when he was writing it was when it was awesome and when he wasn't writing it was when it sucked, hence I have hope for Vol. 4.

I wonder how Hiro will get his powers back. All samples of the formula were destroyed right?

when Hiro went into the future he saw Ando hitting him with his power and thought he was killing him but since we found out that Ando's power is supercharging other people's power maybe he can give Hiro his power back? maybe?
