Walking Through Pryde: The Kitty Thread

O M EFFING G!!!!!!!

She called you dickweeds out on making fun of her and now you are all ostrocizing her for it. When she said that about the guys hiding on the internet she wasnt bashing the internet community. She was just saying that there were jerks on the internet criticizing her for her looks and bashing her for being Kitty and she said the truth. If you were right in front her her I would hope you wouldnt be a dick and say those things to her face. And the fact that doing a big budget movie wasnt her thing and she is looking forward to going back to smaller movies isnt a bash at all. She agreed to do the movie and i know she'll do amazing. Big Budget wasnt something she really liked so she is going back to doing smaller movies. Thats like getting pissy and saying that since I want to go back to broccolli because I didnt like carrotts is *****y against carrotts. Nobody twisted my arm into trying a carrott, but I did and didn't like it.

Leave Ellen alone, she is standing up for herself. Go Ellen, Go!!!!

(ANd for the record, I like broccolli AND carrots, thankyouverymuch):o

well put. i don't think ellen was insulting x men at all in her comment. just because she enjoyed shooting a low budget film after one of the big blockbusters ever, does not mean she is bashing it. lord.

I have to agree with some of the others on here. In her interview, she really didn't say anything offensive to the online community, only to those who choose to insult her. Therefore, she is entitled to her comment.

You say she has a big forehead. She says your a guy hiding behind the internet. You both may be wrong, but it's canceled out at this point. End of story. Now let's move on to actual, positive Ellen/Kitty talk. She's a human being people.. C'mon.
Woah there sparky.

I've never bashed Ellen about her forehead. I was merely acknowledging, when brought up, her forehead is indeed large. We can all see that. Ellen doesn't have anything to back up her comment that anyone who criticises her is hiding behind the internet.

As for moving onto actual positive talk. It's an Ellen thread. The good and the bad.

Brilliant way to start making your point.

Like it or not, when an actor/actress is cast in a role, people are going to judge them not only on their acting ability, but also whether they look right for the part. All the new actors/actresses have had their looks taken apart.

Mouth to Mouth? That's a weird title for a movie.

Great trailer.

Didn't she make this movie before Hard Candy ???

You don't think it'd be more challenging to play a lead in a low-budget movie with a small cast than a small role in a huge-budget movie with a huge cast? Of course it would be. And no, in this film, Kitty probably wasn't a psychological challenge. She is but one part of a huge film. Saying that other roles are more challenging isn't an insult, it's just the truth.

Well, I'd forgotten to add that the sociological, humanistic and sociopolitical implications of the Cure plot don't present enough of an interesting subject for her...?

And if Shadowcat is a key element of X3, she has to connect - indirectly or not - with that theme somehow.

i mean, if one considers it - X3 as a blockbuster is merely 'window dressing' for the almost sombrely resonating commentary that anyone and everyone can relate to.

Only time I'd heard Page come close to this was that she identified the concept of the Xmen not as superheros but as ordinary people who happen to have extraordinary powers in a zeitegeistic, hostile climate that mirrors a little close to reality.

As for Page's comments about those 'hiding behind the Internet' - it's a fair assessment of those who have intensely criticised her mien, age and preoccupations. It's not new; it has been happening since the advent of the Internet in all manners and formats: and consider the breadth of those whom we go to watch on the screen, whom we rarely hear a boo in regards to the scandalising tool of the Internet, it's really fair - and unusual - then that we have Page, a young adult, to make such a comment on it.

Anyone would have to make a 'sweeping generalisation': one cannot pinpoint specific sources or parties. It's the same of any filmmaker working on a film with a preset fanbase; 'oh, the fans were in an uproar over this and that...'

*Q: Brian Nelson and David Slade relayed an anecdote where you were asked to compare your character to someone in history. You responded "Joan of Arc." Why did you pick her?

EP: I said "Joan of Arc" because it was a stupid question and it was the first thing I thought of. *

LMAO, i love this girl!

Yeah, you're right. She was a bit more dirty and had longer hair in MTM.
