Seems that's kinda the point with all these Disney+ shows. They're all featuring characters who've been somewhat in the background behind the MCU's headliners and haven't had their backstories really fleshed out.

I can’t wait, there’s so much in wanda’s history to cover. I wonder if there will be some scenes set in Sokovia?

I always wondered if Wanda helped rebuild Sokovia in anyway after Age of Ultron and post Civil War. Being able to move large objects with her mind would be helpful. That was always my headcanon, it would be cool if they showed or mentioned something like that here.

Yeah, further details on Wanda's heroic life are a must. And more generally, I'd love mentions and references to the off-screen actions of the various heroes in general.

Scarlet Witch deserves better than life as a convenient MCU plot device

I tend to agree, but I think the same is true for Jean Grey as Dark Phoenix. In other words, the question is whether they can turn it into a compelling story for the character or not, not whether it also advances the plot.

That being said, I don't think they should do some kind of universe merging or reality altering situation just to add mutants. I've never bought that argument. Just make mutants unknown until discovered. The "mutants have been oppressed for years" status quo isn't necessary.

Yeah I don't buy for a moment that this is actually going to be a "sitcom" mashup. I think the Leave It To Beaver/Dick Van Dyke type stuff will actually be in service to a story with WAY more dramatic meat.

If you look at Wanda and Vision in the MCU they were a bit different than others in how they were handled. The humor with them is a lot more subtle. I think the show will have a lot of light touches and some humorous absurdity (I mean... Super powered "Witch" lives with resurrected android is ripe for that...) but it should and probably will be more dramatic than the constant flogging of the "sitcom" aspect is letting on.

I hope not. I would think that the MCU is beyond "making the black person a servant to the white person" trope, even if it's only a figment of Wanda's imagination.
