WandaVision WandaVision General Discussion Thread

I don't get involved in the theories on this show. I just want to see the following:

- Epic action (looks like we're going to get that in episode 9)
- Monica having some sort of offensive power. I am not expecting her to fly in WandaVision, but any sort of energy blasts will be nice.
- One of Strange, Wong or Mordo showing up. Doesn't have to be Strange.

I never got the sense from the dialogue that the engineer was meant to be someone of import. I just figured that Captain Rambeau was smart enough to figure out some type of rig that might be able to pass through the hex.

But I mean, ultimately, the space truck didn't work. Had Richards made it, it would've worked!

Didn't Teyonah tease the engineer being someone big, though?

There are rumors that:

Captain Marvel 2 is looking for a black man in his late 20's-early 30's. Described as a "John Boyega type." People are guessing Blue Marvel, but it depends on who is cast.

If Blue Marvel is cast, it has to be a fairly big name. Not 100% sure JD Washington is that big of a name, but he's someone people recognize. I've heard the name Yayha Abdul Mateen and that makes sense, but he's over in the DCEU. Boyega seems to have soured on Disney over his experiences with the Star Wars Films. I've heard the name Trevante Rhodes mentioned but is he a big enough name?

That's why if BM shows up in the MCU, I'd rather he not be Monica's love interest as it was in the comics. If they go the route of an older Blue Marvel who is not going to be Monica's love interest, there's a fairly big name actor I have fan casted for the role. Not sure if it would ever happen though. If they want BM to be Monica's love interest, my pick is JD Washington.

I'd prefer they go older casting Mr. Brashear and JD's dad would be a lovely choice if Marvel Studios could persuade him to sign on. He could have been Maria's old beau and a father figure for young Monica.

I fear if they make Brashear older his role will become more like Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, Bill Foster, Mar-Vell, etc. Without a good successor that'd be a shame imo, because I want him to be front and center and form the Ultimates with Monica, Carol, America and whoever is the new Black Panther (preferably Nakia imo).

Much of the fan theories and speculation came directly from the actors' teasing stuff in interviews. Like I said in another post in here, they should've left the show unfold without any of the creators' hype. It's uncommon to have actors/writers/directors talking about the show while it's on the air.

Covid is uncommon too. They needed to create the hype, because there are no MCU movies in almost 2 years.

The hype was already there, specially after 2 years without MCU material.

the hype would’ve been there for 2-3 days before/after the first episodes

I am now certain something definitely got rewritten with the aerospace engineer mid production. Guys, the show was blatantly telegraphing both through dialogue and camera cues (e.g. zooming in on monica texting this mysterious person) that this engineer was somebody we should be excited for. Maybe not Reed Richard but obviously somebody was being prepped to be introduced. “My guy is just over the ridge,” then the episode ends. Then next episode there is no guy, theres a bunch of SWORD soldiers. how else were we supposed to take those cues? Who was her contact? They knew what they were doing and now they’re backtracking. Something got rewritten.

It could be. I don't know if they had to re-edit, re-write, re-something, but they definitely made it sound like it was something of importance, specially since the character was mentioned/teased at least a couple of times in two different episodes.

I don't know about that. They probably had several versions of scenes filmed. Much of this was likely done for the sake of hyping fans and stoking all kinds of theories to keep people talking rather than any real intention of having Reed Richards or someone else.

For the trailers for Infinity War and Endgame, they had different versions of scenes to the released film that were created deliberately for the trailers so that fans couldn't really piece together what was actually going on. So it's easy for them to substitute different takes and not have to refilm or rewrite as they were going along.

Probably not a popular opinion, but why does it have to take 8 episodes for stuff to happen?

So far, it's sort of seemed like you're waiting for something big to happen and you get a few firecrackers. There's been parts I really like (Well, Monica and prolly Agatha), but, overall, it's kinda slow for my taste. The entire reason behind Mayberry, Mayfield, Smallville, or whatever, shouldn't have taken so long.

That's not the same. One thing are trailers and teasers and another one are scenes in the actual show/movie.

My fan casting choice isn't Denzel. It would be Will Smith.

Even if the first one doesn't happen, I'd like to see Monica have some sort of offensive power and at least one of Wong, Strange or Mordo appear.
