The premise sounds great.I'm a sucker for these types of superheroes and politics stories so I'm really looking forward to this, plus it's Warren Ellis whose early work on Authority and Planetary has opened my eyes as of late.

The basic premise of it,is that a superhero crosses the line and assassinates a corrupt administration. This puts a target not only on his head but of his former teammates.

Here's some purty pics to boot...

When does it come out? Love the art and Ellis is fantastic.

June I think.Might be wrong.

looks over the top, and interesting. On another note I wonder if non american writers can write about their own coutries curruption instead ours..

Meh. I'm getting pretty tired of this whole thing already.

The main character looks like a christian version of Judge Dredd.

GNR, if you're finally a ****e for Ellis like myself, have you tried Transmet, Orbiter, Ocean, Red, or Fell?

Wizard Universe just said it comes out in August with an issue #0 (which is only 99 cents) and is an 8 parter so yeah, I might get into it. Could be the next big thing

fell is crack. I've been looking for the first two issues everywhere.

concerning the series, i'm going to check it out. the plot sounds interesting and it's ellis.

damn straight. this looks like this is going to be another "hard to find" a few months after it's release, as well.

Bump,I hope my store has #0 today

Black Summer #0 - If you're a Republican, a fiscal conservative, a neo-con, a social conservative, a capitalist, a religious person, a Bush fan or just plain old pro-war, then don't read this. You would do well to just pretend like it does not exist and do not even think about.

But if you're not one of those things...you need to pick this up. It's spectacular.

Gimmick. Beyond the shock value of a superhero killing the President, the book had no substance. The focal point of the issue, the hero's reasoning for his action, was unoriginal and unmoving. I realize this was only an introduction, but if the first issue is this hollow, it's going to be really bad.

This is the greatest comic ever!!!! I've read #0 50 times already(only 8 pages). Juan Jose Ryp is definately one of the most kick-A$$ artists i have seen in a long time. I've been picking up books by him for a while, but this one takes the cake. If you don't have this yet, run run run to the comic shop, and pick it up(if there are any left)!!!!!!!!

Prime as in Prime suspect. The CIA is totally watching this dude. :)

Let em. I do nothing wrong besides have an opinion. I loved this book and i'll keep loving it no matter what crime syndicates (or government officials) think about it. And as for "The Leaguer", piss off!!

Funny, that's the opposite of what your mom said as she got on her knees and opened her mouth.

Sorry, Anubis, I didn't realize how new to the Internet you are.

Don't worry about Leaguer,he's a typical programmed fanboy whose opinions mean little around here.

Didn't know about it when it came out last week, so I'll read it when I go to my shop tomorrow. :)

How am I a typical programmed fanboy? Most fanboys are idiots, I'm brilliant and my opinions have been the model for at the governments of at least 70% of the world's most successful governments.
