Warriors remake almost for sure

Pointless. And with Tony Scott = shait to the extreme.

I agree totally and not to mention the amout of idiots here in chicago who will see this movie just to start gang fights and what not. The old one had a point and was some what of a morality tale in some respect i.e swan moving on at the end of the movie. well thats how i took it when i saw it the first time.

I know the original is dated but that's part of it's vintage charm.

Why remake a perfect movie?

On one hand, I love Tony Scott, so I'm curious as to what his version of Warriors would be.

On the other hand, this could turn out to be really s**tty very easily if done wrong.

ya the script wasn't the best in film history but it had it's moments.

I'm worried about justin timberlake and usher finding a way in this movie.

Dude, if that happens, I'm invading the studio--Jay & Silent Bob style. :o

Hopefully, Scott gets some of his staples in, like Denzel or Mickey Rourke. Then it'll be awesome no matter what. :woot::up:

Tony Scott talks gang warfare...

Having already revealed to Empire that his version of the 1979 cult-smash The Warriors is going to be a definite reinvention rather than a simple remake, Tony Scott's passion for the project is most definitely on the rise.
Speaking at the London premiere of his latest action extravaganza Deja Vu, the helmer talked exclusively to Empire about what we can expect from his version of the gangland classic: "I’m going to make it my vision" stated Scott, "It’s going to be The Warriors meets Kingdom Of Heaven. It’s a very simplistic story – that’s the connection. I’m going to shoot it in L.A and all the gang members have said, if I get it on, they’ll sign a treaty for the duration of the shoot."
Visibly excited at the prospect of creating, what will undoubtedly become, one of the movie's key sequences, Scott reiterated his desire "to have 50,000 gang members on Long Beach…you just can’t substitute those gang members with extras. I haven’t met with the heads [of the gangs]”, he revealed. “In those situations you meet with the second in command. Touching these worlds is exciting for me, because I don’t really understand how they function and who these guys are. In the right environment, they’re sweethearts, but hit them in the wrong environment…"
The Warriors is set to hit screens in 2008. Click here to read more from Tony Scott.

LOL:woot:

Tony Scott kicks ass, I think Domino was misunderstood since it was a fun movie just self-indulgent but it bombed and now he's back in check, hopefully... I haven't seen Deja Vu yet... I haven't seen the Warrirors, my friend has it, says it's all right but the script garbage so why not remake a flawed movie?

whaaaaaaa THEY CANT REMAKE THIS. it will have rappers in it!

Tony Scott is an interesting director, hopefully he keeps the grit of the original.

they better not do this...ah nevermind they will, and they'll screw it up too. what can ya do.

**** YEAH!!!!!!! Tony Scott kicks ass and you chumps better stay at home with your momies because this movie can and will own every ass in sight. Who cares if it's a remake or has rappers in it(which I doubt) if you dont like it stay at home and watch something else. Mr Scott I only have a few suggestions 1. Make the fights more bloody I like the original but people never really got hurt. 2. The original skipped on the asians and since this is set in california asian gangs are a must.3. Make the warriors more like ajax, make em mean, violent, and horny, im tired of these gangsters with hearts of gold crap. 4. Make the lizzies more dangerous, I heard a rumor that there supposed to be transexuals in this and I think that is awesome. Imagine warriors shock and horror when they realize they have been making out with dudes who then proced to beat the hell out of them.

this movie is gonna suck ass compared to the original. Can you dig it? Can You Dig It? CAN YOU DIG IIIIIIT?!

The reason the original movie worked was because it was (to a certain degree) an actual reflection of the times. Things really were that bad (especially in New York City) back in the 70s and 80s. They aren't right now, so lets wait until anger is all the rage again.

If this is set, say, in New York, I say wait another decade, when the "Class of '95" starts to retire and the cupboard is bare to hire and train the next generation, and then shoot it. If it is set in L.A., then wait untill something stupid happens to either shatter the Official Gang Truce to the point that turf becomes central to gang politics again, or the LAPD re-forms CRASH AND goes harrasing obviously innocent citizens.

Otherwise, it's going to look like I'm Gonna Git You Sucka played straight.

If Tony (the more talented Scott these days) is helming this, I have faith in it.

^Exactly fanboys are so close minded. These guys want every movie to be directed by peter jackson and star bruce cambel. True lovers of cinema such as myself are ready to give any thing a chance. Tony Scott has earned the benefit of the doubt. If it's bad the original is around so watch it.
