I'm posting this because, IMO, Batman, as portrayed in this movie, was the closest we'll ever get to what we see in the comics. Some complain about the voice, some say the suit looked weird, and so on and so forth. To me, they only amplified what Batman is all about in the comics and only sets the standards for how many other superheroes in future films should be. Now, even though I loved him, I'm getting the feeling a lot of people hated the way he's being protrayed in the Nolan movies. Is it just me, or did real fans also enjoy Batman in The Dark Knight? Duscuss.:brucebat:

wait for it.......wait for it.........

I think this is the best representation of what Batman should be on the big screen. I know many people don´t like the voice, others complain about the bat-suit, and so on. But the fact is, this is what Batman really could be. In character wise, Bale is Batman on-screen. His emotions and ideals were all there. The sole purposeof the existence of Batman is to not need to be Batman (if that make sense). To create a world who don´t need him. And the movie showed that perfectly.

Visiting his parent's grave. It was missing but not missed. As in it could have been there but it did not have to be there.

Oh heck yeah, in fact this was the best and most accurate portrayal of a comic book hero so far.

I'd say yes. I liked how he yells to the wannabe' "I don't need help!" That's classic Batman right there. And the way he jumps Dent when he is about to bust a cap on Gordon's kid. The way he drags Lao about the floor is awesome. The Batman is bolder in this one. That's something that I liked. Hell the interrogation scene alone screams Batman. I loved it. The movie in itself is solid. That's the word I'd use. Oh and lets not forget how he totally ignore's Gordon remarks when he jumps towards the 'hostages' building. And of course when he hides in the dark when the officers give the bad news to Barbara. Awesome

There's always room for improvement in BB3. Like I heard in another thread, the theme for BB3 could be redemption, and that would involve him almost disowning that vow made to his parents, so I see that happening in the future.:brucebat:

That scene screams Batman to me. Watched it 3 times, and it feels so in place with the rest of the movie and the Batman mythos. Loved it.:brucebat:

For the most part, yes. But there could have been a lot more improvements. I wouldn't say this is the closest we'll ever get to the comic book incarnation of Bats. If it is, then I'm underwhelmed.

Like what? I'm not saying that as in a "Prove your point!" kinda way, but like what would you have liked to have seen?

Love your avy, BTW.:brucebat:

Well, you actually get to see Batman playing the role of detective in this movie, which he did little in BB. And Batman is in a real kickass mode in TDK, and really takes command (like he did in Hong Kong) to bring crooks to justice. I think we got the real Batman in this film.

Edit: Woot, 6000 posts. :)

Now that you mention this, I would have loved to see a scene similar to the one in Mask of the Phantasm, possibly right after he interrogates Maroni and decides to turn himself in, where he goes to their graves to debate giving up the mantle of Batman. But hey theres always part 3.

I found Batman/Bruce Wayne's character to be spot on.

It's pretty damn good. Not a fan of the voice, but overall it's a great characterization. Love the ending. That is why Batman is such a great hero.

Agreed. Those were some of the things that, to me, really elevated Batman in here. Nolan really listened to what the fans were saying about BB, and delivered here. Bruce in the motorcycle during the day was really cool to see.:brucebat:

This just felt like a great growth and progression from his character in Batman Begins. It was refreshing to watch a sequel and really believe that the main character was evolving as a person.

so far, this Batman has been the closest to the comic Batman than any movie before it, for all the reasons already stated. and just because he's not the uber-obsessed, ultra-paranoid, insanely meticulous, brilliant detective Batman that now exists in the current comics, that doesn't mean he won't become that. remember, Bale's Batman is only a year or so into being Batman, so he has some ways to go before becoming that Batman. but we definitely saw some of the roots of those personality traits in BB and TDK.

I guess more of a Bruce that's in complete control. A guy that has his head on straight about being this masked vigilante. Someone no nonsense who rarely gets mentally fazed by his villains. In and out of the mask.

An uncompromising attitude that he'll probably be a vigilante for the rest of his life.

Thanks. Now that TDK is done and over with, I think Watchmen will carry the torch very nicely for the genre.

He wasn't in the rage I thought he would be after Rachel's death. Or didn't show alot of saddness after her death either, he sat in a chair and had a tear drop down his cheek. I mean that point of the movie could have been stronger but then again it didn't hurt the film.

That could've been there, but Batman has always seemed to me as the kind of person that would recover from that quickly. I mean he was trained to. Even in the comics that I've read, apart from his parent's death, Todd was the only character I've seen that Batman really tore himself about for. Apart from that, not much else.:brucebat:

TheDarkKnight08, I think you made your point buddy. :lmao:
