and you don't think that ever happens with people who hate the film?...

do yourself a favor and wake up. Try and see both perspectives of this argument, and you'll see that both sides get crap from one another. Don't sit there and play innocent.

and suzi has every right to make a positive comment about the movie. I may not agree with all of it, but I respect her enough to let her speak her mind openly and not insult her for it.

I'm not sure if accusing someone gratuitously of being a double account counts as insult...?

Enlightment anyone?

I'm sure it's an attempt to diminish and belittle the person's opinions. But not sure about if it's an insult though.

trust me, I've seen my share of the "I'm-better-than-you-and-you-suck-because-you-hated-the-film" supporters on here.

now regarding welcoming suzi, he took it as me trying to aggravate someone else, because a few of us had gotten sick and tired of seeing certain other people return under new names after being banned, and tried to start an argument with me because he thought I was tryign to be mean to a returning member, even though all i was doing was welcoming her back.

I thought you were the film-deity of the hype?

Surely you realize the director is to oversee the entire production of a film. If the writing and production design is poor, the director is half to blame, if not more. Part of the direction is choosing a good script, picking good designs. If you can't do that, then your direction is poor.

If only good camera use guaranteed a brilliant film...if only!

In the industry, you have production designers, these people are the ones who set up the locations, get the cast ready, co-ordinate between the various parts of the production, linking the costume dept. with the special FX etc etc.

No, being a FILMMAKER is choosing the script, as a director, you bring, funnily enough, direction to the piece. You decide how to morph the action(in terms of movement and speech) and then decide how you want the audience to view it.

The PRODUCER oversee's the entire production, ESPECIALLY with large scale productions like these.

Of course I realise things about filmmaking and direction, as it's my career, so no need to attempt and fail to point out the obvious next time.

Not around here. I see it all the time in the Batman boards, though.

I have not once said that one side was more correct than the other, my whole point is that every argument here is ridiculous. Just look at my signature.

So you implied that she was another poster's alternate screename?

"Hmm, here she is defending the film, she must be someone else with the same opinion"

You and 50% of the members on the hype. I look forward to seeing a film of yours on the big screen one day.:yay:

so no need to attempt and fail to point out the obvious next time.

Maybe I'll succeed next time.:yay:

Dude, I've had production on TV, so please try to be polite considering my national distribution and thre fact I'm currenty in talks with Ch4 and BBC....

you haven't been here as long as some others have been... trust me, it has happened, and it does happen.
I have not once said that one side was more correct than the other...
then why make it sound like everyone who hates this movie are wrong?...

it had nothing to do with her opinion on the movie... I was greeting a returning SHH member... it's called being nice.

I don't really like you and usually avoid your posts but I just felt like making a droll comment. So sorry about that. Worked with tv and talked with BBC though? Sounds cool.

then why make it sound like everyone who hates this movie are wrong?...
If I come across that way, its not my intention. But even so, hating a movie is silly to do. Hate is too strong a word when it comes to movies about a flying man.

Hating a movie is ok. Hating it for years on a daily basis...

that same flying man has been around since before World War II...

hey, Payaso, I agree with you on that... I've personally moved on to better things, but that's not gonna stop me from expressing my opinion on the movie... no matter if it's good or bad.

people are going to have preconceived notions of the character, and if you mess with that too much, they're either not gonna like it, or not gonna care about it.

There you go. Hating isn't a natural response. "Not liking" does not equal "hating".

if you noticed, I never said hating...

even though some people take their love for Superman to extreme levels... but does that make them wrong?.. of course not. They just don't want to see the character they hold so dear to them tampered with to the extreme.

there are a few things I hate about the movie, but mostly just dislikes.

Hell that belt isnt even a belt. It is held on with Velcro to the pants.

Neither was the one Reeve wore. In fact, his cape was held on with Velcro too just like Routh wore.

It was goofed on in FHM for its feminine leanings. There were reports of people going into stores and seeing it on the display stands for merchandise advertising and being called the banned word. It was a failure and too far a departure from the classic suit no matter how you guys try to spin it.

Nice to make that up with saying people see it at display stand for merchandise ad. & call it word you can't say here. And too far a departure? I guess Supes wearing a cape, boots, trunk, etc. were too far of a departure then, 'cause that what he wore in SR. If he is wearing a cape, boots, trunk, belt, etc., then it is a classic suit. It classic with some change, that is.

And in America, we goof on Speedo's. Hell, they were banned on beaches in a few states because people wearing them had been beaten up.

Those people who beat up men for wearing speedo must be jealous they don't look good in one. So they decide to make themself feel better by being an ass & beat up those men in speedo. No wonder jealous isn't a good thing. :p

When a guy wears a speedo in an American movie, the usual point of having the male character wear it is for a laugh.

Just like Supes wearing red trunk on the outside of his brightly, feiminie costume, wheter it on Reeve or Routh or Cain, etc. If Supes never wore red trunk from the beginning when Siegel & Shuster created him, I'm sure people would laugh at it if it was being used for the first time onscreen like in 2000. No matter which kind it was., it would still get laughter. I'm sure there are some who still laugh at Reeve's trunk.

Is it that it is okay for them to have put womens cut panties on SuperMAN?

Better than wearing granny panties with what some of the previous actors wore, I'm sure. Beside, I thought you claim the SR look more like a speedo when you brought up the speedo talk eariler. The trunk & belt always look feminie from this generation right now compare to the old days where many comic books were sillier. Why else some fans don't want him to wear the trunk & belt nowdays? Exactly. They think it too girly looking on him & make him less heroic looking.

Superman must always wear the belt and trunks, I'd say the same for Batman but they've already **** on that.

I don't mind people defending the film. But can you guys (for or against) stop implying he's wearing womens underwear. I get that it's a homosexual bashing women hating world. But he's wearing trunks. Also if you have to insult the past with the really big trunks. Call them Grandpa undies since he's a man and not a woman. You just don't have to perpetuate the misogyny. I'd appreciate it too.

While it'd be great they (buggs) stop behaving like that, I can't help finding his fixation with Superman's package amusing. :)

In a more serious tone, that behaviour just talks crap about himself,

I don't want to see Superman wear manties or diapers... I just want him to wear trunks.

they're not that hard to design.

They're even less hard to take out from the costume. Which would satisfy me.
