Magnum PI - - playboy, detective, had no real job and Higgins waiting on him, drove supercar and had a helicopter pilot, lots of toys/guns, referred to as Master by Higgins, serious love interests met with bad ends!

Rick - slightly feminine sidekick, idol worship with Magnum, had a four letter name that started with 'R' and no real value added!

Higgins - unclear past, English, Magnum was greatly dependent upon Higgins, helped add wisdom to detective work!
