I can't express how much this film is going to kick serious ass.

It's still all about the special dvd, it might be the greatest dvd of all time.

I'm quite impressed by the level of detail they are going into.

maybe it's just the illusion of filmaking but the tackier older skool costume perfectly fits in with that era

It DOES look a little odd how close in age the actors playing Laurie and Sally are in the movie. The make-up for aging Carla looks a little bit light, and doesn't have much of an effect. In the clips of that scene though, Malin looks just like Laurie from the comic!

Overall, this has makes me more excited for the movie. I was worried when I heard about the kung-fu in the prison scene, but it looks great, not too stylized, just awesome. And hooray for finally getting a look at Nite Owl II as just Dan Dreiberg! Lookin' good!

The only thing that worries me is older Sally. She didn't sound like I pictured Sally would sound like, or look like her either. Of course it will be way different in the finished project.

I think that will be one of the biggest problems facing this film...age. The Comedian has to be shown from 16 to..what, his late 50's? 60's? And all by one guy. Sally is pretty much the same deal. Laurie needs to be 16 as well, and then be a 40 year old woman for most of the film. It will be interesting to see how they work that out.

Other then that, the only thing that bothered me isn't new. It is how dark Ozy comes off as. They may as well just slap a "Villain!" sticker on his head :/

I loved that video, it just got me more and more psyched about the movie, and Akerman DOES look a lot like Laurie from the comic.

Yeah, the aging process is tricky and rarely very satisfying in movies (I liked Salieri in Amadeus and Dustin Hofman in Little Big Man, and thought that Heath Ledger did pretty impressive work with minimal make-up in brokeback), that's why I'm really looking forward to what Fincher will be doing in Button where he seems to have pushed the enveloppe in that domain.

I don't know, I thought Carla looked pretty decent as an older woman. She's only supposed to be like 60-65 years old, I think. I really, really dig her '80's older woman look with the poofy hair.

I think when we heard her speak, that was just her regular voice as it appeared they werent shooting a scene. And she will in fact use an "old lady" voice.
