Watchmen Review(TIME Magazine)

Pretty much my exact thoughts.

I'm not familiar with this guy or his blog, but those are some powerful words that he has written. It seems like he knows what he's talking about. Makes me feel even more excited to see the film.

It must have really blown him away. That being said, how will it hold up to film criticism and analysis? The one thing I am still afraid of is the ultra-faithfulness. Is Snyder so focused on simply recreating the graphic novel that he has forgotten to make it a cinematic experience as well? Time will tell I suppose.

1. cool.

2. someone needs to give this man a hooker so he can discover the vagina.

It's this that gets me:

Sitting in that screening room and watching the visual world of the Watchmen movie unfold was one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had. Not film experiences. Just EXPERIENCES.

The book itself is already relatively cinematic. In the script, it's paced about as well as it could be in a 2:40-3 hour movie. I don't think there's much to worry about in that respect.

*Waits for haters to pretend that this thread doesn't exist*

My faith in this film...is massive right now.

Perhaps. We'll find out March 6. :cwink:

My excitement couldnt possibly be any higher after reading that, however I believe he did go overboard with his enjoyment of the film.

That just elevated my anticipation for the movie. March 6th can't come any closer...

i had doubts here and there about the movie...confidence and faith now +100%

Film critics may very well interpret the film different from fans. I've seen criticism of Coraline's screenplay, where I simply didn't interpret the film the same way the critic did.

And as The Guard pointed out, Watchmen is already fairly cinematic on its own.

Anyways, even if it isn't OMG the best film ever, this does sound like a treat. :yay:

Tells himself: "Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . Just 16 days . . "

When fanboys admit a critic has gone overboard... how the hell do you take this guy seriously? I'll be shocked if the rest of the reviews follow this trend.
