Watchmen

I can't find anywhere where this film is being discussed anymore, but please move this where necessary if this isn't the right area, but...the Collector's Edition of Watchmen is out now, anyone planning on getting it?

I got mine earlier today. Still love Watchmen myself and I think it may be a kind of film where the fans of the graphic novel seem to really like it as well moreso than the general audience.

I didn't like the Ultimate Cut (the cheap animation in the Black Freighter ruins it. Might as well leave it out). Director's Cut for me.

I've only seen the theatrical cut, which was unfortunately but not surprisingly mediocre and didn't compel me to seek out the other versions.

Did the black freighter animation really ruin it?

Not in my opinion. I actually liked the idea of making Black Freighter animated.

I haven't seen Watchmen completely since I saw it on theaters. I really liked it, however I haven't had the opportunity to watch it again, since I found it too long. I plan on watching one of the more complete versions soon.

The directors cut is absolutely superb and one of the best CBM's out there, top 5 for me easy, we never got the ultimate cut here in the UK so i've never been able to watch it, shame as I'd like too.

The Director's Cut is incredible. I have The Black Freighter, but still haven't seen The Ultimate Cut.

I feel that I have to see the Directors Cut. I've watched the Black Freighter separatly, and feel that I don't have to see that in the movie. But a DC would be interesting.

I can't imagine the director's cut would improve so much on such a flawed movie. It's the same thing with Daredevil. I heard people call the director's cut of that film a totally different, better movie but when I saw it I pretty much saw the same bad movie.

My friend let me borrow the Ultimate Cut. Loved every minute of it.

That set looks cool but I already have a hardcover and TPB of the novel plus I have the directors cut on both DVD and Bluray and the Ultimate Collectors Edition DVD.

I've only seen the Theatrical and Ultimate cuts, but I agree that I wasn't too huge on the Black Freighter sections.

Does the Director's Cut still have the newsstand Bernies stuff?
