1. Peter Parker is trendier and hipper than Bruce Wayne:
For example, Peter Parker embraces revealing himself to the world, his villians, etc. He doesn't care about the ramifications. He is a true rebel. Bruce Wayne is rigid and thinks his actions out in advance. Peter thinks "outside of the box." Batman is not hip enough to unmask himself in front of the world if Steel told him too, for example. Even more, Alfred wouldn't encourage him to do that either-he too is overly rigid and not trendy. Aunt may is cutting edge...better than Dear Abby when you need life changing advice.
2. Spider-Man enjoys sitting back and enjoying things around him in life while Batman is too wound up.
For example...Spidey is more interested at sitting back and being in awe of the other heroes around him. Despite living in NY and having seen them all for the past 30 years of his life, he still finds time to appreciate sitting back and smelling the coffee when they're around him. Batman on the other hand is missing out on these finer things. He doesn't find time to sit back and marvel at the intricasies of his fellow heroes. Instead, Batman is too busy plotting ways to take down his friends if they ever need to be. Again, he is way over thinking this and wound too tight. Thus, Batman is going to die of highblood pressure at an earlier age while Spidey will live to a fine old age where he'll be better able to admire the other heores long into his nursing home days.
3. Spideys missing kid stays gone while Batman has his nagging him .
Who wants to read stories about a hero and their kid. Spidey is just Spider-Man-no tag-alongs. Batman is kinda like an old man with a bunch of tag-a-longs. He has Robin(s) running around all over the place at various stages in their lives and now a demented little kid who needs the Supernannys intervention. Again, it is enough to run up his blood-pressure while Spidey can be more carefree-not worrying about his kid.-Gives him more time to admire the other heroes instead.
4. Spidey lets go of the past while Batman grips it too tightly.
For example...It doesn't matter if Spidey defeats Juggernaut yesterday...and then faces Paste Pot Pete the next and loses. He doesn't keep track of who he has beaten and who he hasn't. He takes on each bad guy with a clean slate. Never one to be cocky, he is ok with being beaten sorely by lesser baddies even though he can defeat bigger ones. Batman on the other hand...he knows who he has handed a defeat, and he relishes it. He lets others know he's kicked their butts and he'll do it again. I mean...let it go Batman...let it go! Spidey is more like the loveable Buffalo Bills...he loses the games he should win and wins the games he shouldn't. No rhyme or reason. Sign of a loveable underdog and an american sweetheart.
