I tried the search and didn't see a thread for this or perhaps missed it.

Rodrigo Cortés (Buried) next movie (who also wrote the screenplay) is a psychological thriller about a "para-psychologist who attempts to debunk a very reputable psychic who has just returned to the limelight after 30 years." According to Cortés, the film is about “about how the brain does not give a true picture of reality.” Sigourney Weaver is cast as para-psychologist and opposite Weaver will be Robert De Niro, who’s been attached to star as the world-renowned psychic who finds himself being investigated by Weaver and her assistant.

Reading from the reviews, it looks like Cortés did a good job with Buried (going to see it this weekend) and it has two good leads, so I'm looking forward to this one.

Shocktillyoudrop was at the American Film Market and while there they took a pic of the teaser art, which is also the first time we've heard of Cillian Murphy's involvement in the movie.

I'm quite intrigued by Buried, I think I'll check it out somewhere next week.

But, on topic: Sounds moderately interesting. Mostly because of Cillian Murphy, who is simply a fantastic actor.

Cortés manage to make the Buried work, the movie has the right amount of suspense, some of the shots looks great with the lightning and angles and Reynolds did a good performance.

Elizabeth Olsen to Star in Red Lights

Robert plays a world renowned psychic and Sigourney is a psychology professor, and I play her student, says Olsen.
Cillian Murphy is my love interest, though that’s not a huge part of the story.

Excellent cast attached so far especially with the talented Cillian Murphy.
Buried was an amazing movie and I'm already interested to see Cortés's follow-up.

Murphy is one of the best actors currently working. Definitely looking forward to this.

Scriptshadow has reviewed the screenplay, it's a old draft but there's obviously spoilers there but I'll just put in the spoiler on more details revolving the plot and the impression of the screenplay . I'll just put in the spoilers just in case.

59 year old Dr. Margaret Matheson has dedicated her life to debunking psychics, those fakers who claim to have otherworldly powers, who are able to peek into the unseen dimensions that exist just outside our realm of consciousness. If you say you saw an alien, can talk to the dead, can read minds, can move objects with your brain, Matheson will calmly walk through your door and prove that you can’t. She’s accompanied by 33 year old physicist Thomas Buckley, who has a little more faith in the supernatural than Margaret, but is quietly shocked as again and again Margaret is able to expose every “real” case they encounter.

Red Lights is a funky little thriller that captivates you when it’s working and baffles you when it’s not. Imagine Fringe mixed with The Prestige and you have a pretty good idea of the script. I think the big problem here is that the story is weighed down by too many unneeded scenes, scenes that go on for too long, and scenes that are redundant.

A mix between Fringe and The Prestige? Sounds interesting.

Just came in to share that review, sounds intriguing. I'm just looking for a decent De Niro film again.

Could this be the first great DeNiro movie in over a decade? :wow:

I was watching Polanski's Death and the Maiden just the other day. Sigourney Weaver is horrible in that, I never did like her but her performance there is outright laughable. I hope she doesn't have a big role in this.

If I'm not mistaken I think she's the lead in this movie, and that pic gives me Twin Peaks vibe. :ninja:

Whoa, can't believe I've never heard of this before. Sounds interesting. A Great cast.
