My pick is Metamorpho. My knee-jerk pick after I first read the paper might have been Deadman, but I've found myself re-reading Metamorpho since then. There's just something about the cheesy, expository dialogue that appealed to me in this format. ("Aww gee, Saph. Any elemental freak with metamorphic powers and a crush on you woulda done the same..."). The art fit the writing in the sense that it was simple, but effective. And the "Mystery Villain?: To Be Revealed" just cracked me up.
Overall, though, I thought this issue was a home run. While I was also a bit underwhelmed by Teen Titans , each of the other strips did enough to make me curious to see the next chapter. If the next eleven installments of Wednesday Comics are as good as this one was, none of us will complain about dropping $48 on the series. Good for DC to try something so different. I hope it sells well.
