LOS ANGELES — Harvey and Bob Weinstein are on the brink of regaining control of Miramax Films, a move that would mark a triumphant and unexpected return by the pair to the independent film spotlight.

The Walt Disney Company, which bought Miramax in 1993 and has operated it without the Weinsteins since 2005, has granted the brothers an exclusive negotiating window to make a deal for the unit, according to two people with knowledge of the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks were private.

I really hope this works out. *crosses fingers*

What I don't understand is, they had all this money to buy back Miramax, yet they didn't have enough money to do Halloween 3D (even though they bought Farmer and Lussier's script) or put Halloween II on DVD/Blu-Ray.

Let's just hope we see a new edition of The Crow and finally get the producer's cut of Halloween 6.

This this this. I can not say it enough. I want this on blu-ray. With the best transfer that can be done. And I've mentioned it before, but I'd love to see an official home release of the Pay-per-view cut of The Crow: City Of Angels. I've never seen it.
