Ellen Burstyn and James Caan are starring in the romantic comedy “Welcome to Pine Grove!” with shooting expected to begin later this summer. Burstyn plays a widow who moves into the Pine Grove Senior Community and discovers it’s just like high school, full of cliques and flirtatious suitors. Caan plays the hot new guy at Pine Grove and Burstyn’s love interest.

“’Welcome to Pine Grove!’ is ‘Mean Girls’ meets ‘Golden Girls’ in a senior community,” said Powell. “We wanted to make a film that inspires others because it is never too late to make friends, to laugh, to dance, and to love.”

Welcome to Pine Grove! has added new residents. Emmy winning actors Ann-Margret (Going in Style, Bye, Bye Birdie), Lloyd (Going in Style, Back To The Future), Loretta Devine (The Carmichael Show, Crash), Jane Curtin (The Spy Who Dumped Me, Saturday Night Live) are joining Ellen Burstyn and James Caan in the Michael Lembeck-directed romantic comedy set in a retirement home.

Janet (Curtin) is the self-appointed ruler of the Queen B’s who feels that Pine Grove is her own personal kingdom. Although a member of the clique, Sally (Devine), is a free spirit who bonds with Helen (Burstyn) and Margot (Ann-Margret) is a bombshell looking for husband number six. Joining the team is Arthur (Lloyd) a new resident loving the ladies’ attention.

Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the cast of romantic comedy “Welcome to Pine Grove!” and will play the daughter of Ellen Burstyn’s character.

Burstyn plays an independent widow who reluctantly moves into the Pine Grove Senior Community after accidentally setting her home on fire and realizes that it is like being in high school all over again. Mitchell plays a successful real estate agent with a complicated relationship with her mother.
