I read the script for this or at least when this was called Almanac. It wasnt very good. I couldnt even get through it.

It's funny because there is another time travel found footage film in the works and it's called "Glimmer." Glimmer was actually a better read but it still had tons of problems like this one.

It of course has a very strong Chronicle vibe to me, but it doesnt seem as interesting

I agree about the Chronicle vibe.
Time Travel stories are a favorite of mine, I will check it out.
Meanwhile if you haven't see Primer have a look at it.

Yup, felt like Chronicle and that trailer gave away too much.

To me it looks like he's going to go back in time and try to kill himself as a kid to stop everything.

I just got that vibe from the trailer is all. Constantly traveling back and forth in time trying to set major mistakes right leading to a end at a party where he will probably scare himself in some way much like the butterfly effects ending.

Platinum Dunes and Bay do have the money to keep these things from looking cheap, so I can't hate.

It feels like a mix of Chronicle (teens doing stuff you'd expect they'd do) and Butterfly Effect (screw stuff up and have to go back to unscrew it). Hopefully it doesn't end like Butterfly Effects alternate ending, because that was just odd.

I feel like I just watched the entire movie. What were they thinking with that trailer??

the potential with a movie like this is so big that i am already now disappointed. :csad:

Thanks guys!

As a huge sci-fi fan, I now know that I should avoid this trailer at all costs. I am sick to death of studios releasing trailers that tell the entire film.

heh, that was bleak as ****. It felt like the right one to me though, as awful as it was at least there was some genuine emotion to it. The others just felt tacked on like someone ticked "hopeful/happy ending" at the end of the checklist. Damn test audiences.

Baby's dont have the muscle control to strangle themselves, regardless of if they have the consciousness of a man or not.

Looking forward to this thought, I'm a sucker for time-travel flicks.

If y'all havent seen "FAQ About Time Travel" it's a pretty good movie

Yeah, that was part of why I didn't like that ending. The theatrical version was just fine.

don't actually like found footage themes film could have been better without it .

Looks pretty good. I got a Chronicle + The Butterfly Effect from this as well.

The trailer looks pretty bad to me, didn't seem interesting in the least not even in the same league as Chronicle IMO.

Yes, they definitely should have put more emphasis on realism in their time travel movie.

The original title was Almanac as well. A reference to Back to the Future Part II? Hmm, maybe

Comes out Friday. It's found footage but I kinda wanna see it.

I love found footage. Execution isn't always the best but no genre ever is. I think this one looks pretty good.
