I currently have a 27" HDTv from Westinghouse and I've had it for about a year now.

Since January, it's been having this very minor display problem where these very faint, maybe white noise lines or something have been showing up on the screen and I couldn't get rid of them. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of them, but they were so faint, that they didn't really bother me too much.

In August, I wanted to go ahead and see if I could get this minor problem fixed. I called Westinghouse about the problem and they couldn't help (over the phone). I then called Best Buy (where I purchased the TV w/ a 4-year in-home warranty). Best Buy came over to try to fix the TV, but they couldn't figure out how or why it was happening. They told me to let them know if the problem got worse.

After a while, I just dealt with the little lines on the TV and I forgot about it.

...Today, I come home and a 27" HDTv, the same one as the one in my room showed up today and I don't know why.

I never agreed to a full replacement to be delivered or anything like that, but there's another TV in my house. What am I supposed to do here?

Is the shipping label addressed to your house?

Mail it to me, I'll take care of it.

No idea, maybe Best Buy submitted a claim on your warranty.

Are the lines evenly spaced, maybe about an inch apart and stacked horizontally?

Umm...They are pretty randomly spaced and they're vertical lines. You can only really see them if you look hard enough during a scene with a lot of light and horizontal movement.

I didn't even get a phone call, an e-mail...Am I supposed to send my other TV to them or something?

Okay, I thought it might be the same as a problem I had but it sounds different.

I wouldn't worry about it, just call the company or Best Buy and ask for clarification.

I hink he is in the clear with this one.

im gonna go ahead and have to call on mr. obvious for this one.

lol. I know, but it just seems TOO obvious, right?

I just don't want to have some kind of weird bill come in the mail or some angry phone call about what happened to their TV or something..

how many vertical lines do you have on your tv?

lol...I don't even see them anymore...It's like they disappeared for some reason..

There's only one room that I want to play games and watch movies and that's where the current HDtv is. A second HDtv in the house means that I have to find reasons to watch movies and games in another room..

I'm thinking about selling my old TV and using the money to buy something more useful.

OR, I could sell them both and get a 1080p :D :p

I'm thinking about getting this one:

I don't need a TV larger than 37"..

As long as they're not going to come after your ass later attempting to charge you for it....it should be cool. I work in the logistics area though, so if an extra one is sent out, it comes out of someone's pocket on this end, so they may attempt to locate it. But it's your call.

FYI
[BLACKOUT]Logitech operates the same way.Call them up while your warranty is still valid and they will send you a brand new item in the mail. You dont have to send them the broken keyboard or even speaker set....Its like, they just believe you. It was a strange experience.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah, I called both Westinghouse and Best Buy while I was under warranty, and I guess since Westinghouse couldn't help and neither could Best Buy, that someone put in the claim to get another sent out to me.

I'm thinking about selling this older TV here, If anyone's interested, PM me and I'll put you on a consideration list. :D
