Weta Digital reveals THE LAST DAYS ON MARS.

Weta Digital is producing The Last Days on Mars, a Science Fiction movie directed by Ruairi Robinson, who was nominated to an Oscar for the animation Fifty Percent Grey, in 2001. The movie, written by Clive Dawson, follows a space mission deployed to Mars in the near future. On their last day in the planet before returning to Earth, the astronauts find microscopic evidences of life and decide to investigate a particular area called "Side 9", where one of them is killed and his body is possesed by one of the bloodthirsty psychic parasites that inhabit the planet.

The CGI will be created by Weta, and the movie is expected to start filming in January 2012, in the United Kingdom, for a release date later in the same year.

I don't know. Seems like I have seen this before. It seems similar to Ghosts of Mars, The Thing, Apollo 18 among others.
