WGA, SAG-AFTRA Strike Thread

I don't know, I don't believe anything the news media says. :o

Curious how long now until SAG gets their deal.
Soon i hope.
People have to keep going on this until the SAG also gets a deal.
There is a good chance a lot of support and momentum can get lost with the WGA getting theirs, that cant happen.
Pressure has to be kept on so the SAG gets a good deal too.

To be frank, SAGAFTRA were always in a stronger position than the WGA.

Glad they finally reached an agreement.

So in theory, writers can get back to work before a SAG deal is reached for talk shows and writer's rooms for scripted television. I imagine the late night talk shows and SNL will be back at it within the next couple of weeks.

SNL no because those performers are actors, but late night talk shows like Jimmy, Kimmel etc yes.

I believe SNL performers are under a different contract, the same kind that covers soap operas, variety shows, talk shows, etc.

Technically, they still need to vote and ratify it but hopefully that gets wrapped up soon and they can get SAG-AFTRA done before Christmas.

The AMPTP did a terrible job here. Not to mention studios' poor treatment of their VFX artists has now inspired them to unionize as well. Not saying that's a bad thing. It's a good thing they are finally standing up for themselves, but people can only take so much, you know?

My hope is that the VFX artists unionizing will bring about better changes to the overall product as it has been affecting final products for years.

If a deal with SGA-AFTRA comes soon, it will be the end of John Cena's current WWE run.

Except the WGA said it too :o
