You don't want to know, LOL!!! When I was hosting a SHH Survivor game on here years ago, I had to turn it off for a while. I was getting silly amounts of them regularly.

I’ve had more than a hundred from just one day before. Although some are multiple responses to the same post and don’t all require responses. Usually have anything between 10-50 in the “off season” t:

I think its all a bit 'Am I still popular & relevant' in any case, and I've never been either so something telling me I'm not/I am is not a massive life changer for me. t:

Go to 'User CP', 'Setting and Options', and press on 'Edit Options' link.
Scroll down to the end of 'Messaging and Notifications' section, and you can choose which kind of quote notifications to get.

No that's not what it is. It's just an email alerting you that someone's quoted you. So for eg while we were discussing the World Cup I've had loads of notifications just from you in the last few days. And even if we hated each other and were arguing non stop there would still be an equal number of notifications. Any one long discussion can result in 10 notifications by itself. Not anything to do with popularity.

When you login I usually get a pop up saying “you have personal messages” and there’s a little message there with how many you have.

I just quoted you so you should now have at least one!

Zero. I hate getting pop-ups from sites. The only ones I really allow are PMs.
