Just something buzzing in my brain. I mean, I've been here a few years, have over 3000 posts, etc... yet every year I've had to create my own birthday thread (with one exception, DX) .

I mean, I got the b-day e-mail, but no thread. I'm not complaining, it's a serious question.

Sorry, just had a really crappy birthday, and this didn't help things.

Well, be popular. Now I'm popular, but kinda the bad popular. Also, just make your own next time worst case.

How was ur b-day?

Maybe come here more often!? Well liked people always get birthday threads and since most of us here in the community know each other, we are one big happy family except for knowsbleed.

I've been here over 6 years, have over 28,000 posts, and no one has ever made a birthday thread for me.

Sorry to hear your birthday sucked. I myself don't really care much about my birthday anymore and treat it as just another day. I used to use it as an excuse to stay home from school but since I'm in college, I finish before it. Though next year I will turn 21 so I'll be able to by my friends beer (I don't drink).

It took me a while to get my 1st B-day thread...what a glorious thread my first one was

And that was 2 years ago. Before that, I never got or made one.

Happy Birthday!

If this is to my thread for ComicChick, I'll answer like this.

I made the one for ComicChick, because, well, I consider her a friend. I mean, not like we're super tight buddies with our own in-jokes and what not, but definitely someone I'd go get a beer with. I happened to know today was her birthday, so I just made a thread to say "Hey, you don't suck, and you're older!".

That said, the fact that you are pretty sporadic around here doesn't help, since usually it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. Nobody's going to show love to a dead account, ya know?

I've been here to long to remember if anyone, Other than my wife, has made me a B-Day thread. I think someone may have made one a year or so ago but I just don't remember.

BTW Today IS my birthday.... I'm just saying.:cwink::oldrazz::woot:

Consider this: if you do get a birthday thread, would it really make you feel better knowing that it may have possibly been a pity gesture as a result of this thread?

Yes.

:hehe:

Not really...

And I really didn't think my posting was so sporadic. I guess it has been lately... It just seems that everytime I start posting regularly, something happens and I stop. I guess I should start posting more.

As to my b-day sucking, it was my first one really away from home. It was the first time I've been home-sick in nearly seven months. That, and nobody (besides the family) realized it was my birthday.

Oh, and after I told people at least 23 of them said "You're not 21 yet, so what does it matter? You can't drink yet."

(How many times do I have to tell these people that even when I turn 21, I WILL NEVER DRINK!)

It was just irritating.

caretaker... a person who is in the military who is able to drink, but doesn't... is pretty much an endangered species. Just letting you know... nothing wrong with it, but definitely not part of the norm.

Don't listen to enterthemadness! I don't think there's anything lower than making a birthday thread for yourself. Do you send yourself a card?

Rules for Birthday Threads:

1. Don't ever make your own birthday thread.

Well I will say to drak thank you because before I came in this thread I was not aware I had a birthday thread

And to Superman, happy birthday to you too :) bday twins

And like most have said. Most bday threads I've seen are mostly for community posters. Come out into community more, let us get to know you and I'm sure you won't have that problem anymore ;)

Third Rule for Birthday Threads :

Don't ever make your own birthday thread while naked and cooking bacon.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Fourth Rule for Birthday Threads:

Don't ever make your own birthday thread while naked and cooking bakon whilst spooning with cell mate.

:bh::bh::bh:

Fifth Rule for Birthday Threads:

Don't ever make your own birthday thread while naked and cooking bacon whilst spooning with cell mate who looks suspiciously like Jay Sherman of "The Critic" fame.

Sixth Rule for Birthday Threads:

No shirts, no shoes.

Wait... Wrong rules. Nevermind.

I can't empathize, I've gotten a birthday thread every year since I've been here. :o

Of course they have been slowly diminishing in sizes. :(

But then again so has the rest of community.

I feel the same way.
