How about:

Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

I'd rather have a Porsche. That'd pay for like 3/4 of the one I want.

how are the nine dancing ladies the most expensive items on the list?

From what I understand the song was actually code for christians since it was a time of perscution for them when that song was made...

it seems like a crappy code movies205, first lines of it are..

'on the first day of christmas...'

not a very stealthy way to go about it.

Nhawk, you've actually got this wrong...

those items would cost you approximately $18,920

$75,000 is the price of getting the items on consecutive days like the song suggests however, i'm not sure if it takes into account the holiday rates of working on holidays such as boxing day (in the uk) and new years day.

^No kidding. They'll be making at least time and a half on the stat holidays. Then there's the yearly bonuses, plus employee benefits... it all turns into one big headache.

the 18,920 is for one of each item

Buying each item in the song just once will cost you $18,920 -- 3.1 percent more than last year

All 364 cost the $75,122

This year, buying all 364 items -- from a partridge in a pear tree to a dozen drummers drumming -- repeatedly on each day as the song suggests would set you back $75,122, up from $72,608 in 2005.

:hyper:

you didn't list 364 items in your first post...

:o

you listed approximately 78

$75,122 will still get you exactly what I've listed . . . . .you'll just have a little left over :O

The biggest problem is the BIRDS... do you know how much work it is to keep all those bird cages clean??? ENOUGH with the BLOODY BIRDS already, I'll take a few more golden rings, thank you very much (but the Ten Lords a-leaping were a lot of fun... I could handle more of them too ;) )
