could get away with wearing tights in a movie? So far only Spider-Man & the FF have managed to pull this off AND have commercially successful movies. Now of those who HAVEN'T hit the big screen yet (it's too late for the X-Men), who could pull it off?

Black Widow. In fact, I demand she wear tights. And Wasp.

Widow's been wearing leather for a while now.

Yeah, but she can pull it off. And it would make me pretty... happy.

I'm pretty sure what was meant was which MALE heroes can pull it off... As scantily clad women are welcomed in Hollywood, but there is a fear that the tights could make male characters look gay or just ridiculous.

I can imagine Namor pulling off something sleek and skin tight, the Black Panther as well.

Yeah, I think the Black Panther could do it. Captain America HAS to somehow, I'm sure they can dull the colours down and make the uniform almost resemble normality enough for it to work. I think it all revolves around straying away from big bright colours...keep them dull, dark and rippled enough so it blends with the surroundings...Superman looked ridiculous in the latest film, no ones gonna take the guy serious wearing crap like that.

Well it all depends on the character.

Captain America almost has to, his costume is too iconic to change it too much.

Namor could pull it off quite well, in fact it would almost make more sense for him to be practily naked. Namor would have to be in his orginal green fish scale briefs (to get past the sensors)

Black Panther would have to be in skin tight animal fur to pull off the chacter right.

Thor you would have to change up a bit, but I would keep the cape.

Deadpool I can see in batman like body armor.

I think the more pressing question is can Deadpool pull this look off onscreen?

Your post seems contradictory. Superman's colors were muted & dull in the latest film, which to me was the main problem. Superman's supposed to be bright & highly visible. I feel the same way about Cap. First of all, Red white & blue aren't colors that "blend in" no matter what the shade. They stand out. And secondly, Cap's not a stealthy guy. He WANTS the bad guys to see him coming. He's a symbol. To dull his look would go against everything he stands for.
And Spider-Man proved that in the right setting, the bright colors DO work.

Deadpool in the original red & black costume. I hope we see him at Comic Con this year. Though I could see him in BM type armor, as long as its red & black.

Black Panther. Sort of a tight leather thing. Only have him very muscular so they look tight.

I agree with those who have said Black Widow. She almost immediately springs to mind.

Spider Woman Jessica Dew
Spider Woman Julie Carpenter
Squirrel Girl
Doorman
Black Cat

I'd rather not have him in leather, b/c then we'd lose the full-face mask. I don't want the "Ultimate Avengers" look, or anything close to it.

Thor I could see in something simiar to what he's wearing now; put him in tights & it makes no sense.
Not sure what you mean by "animal fur" for BP; I keep picturing something like Kraven.
And something tells me DP won't be wearing a costume at all.

I would like to see in tights would be
Ms Marvel
The Wasp
Scarlett Witch

So you mean DP will be naked!? 0.o

Re-read my post; I specifically said we'd lose the FULL-FACE mask. I don't want him in a leather mask b/c then it can't cover his whole face. (Unless you know of some leather that you can breathe through.) Something along the lines of DD or Bane is exactly what I DON'T want for Black Panther.
I want to see THIS mask.

Not THIS one.

I know this is a Marvel thread but The Flash

As for Deadpool, he could get away with tights but his costume should look like the GI Joe movie costumes which are basically spandex with extra stuff hanging off it so its thinly veiled as if its not spandex

Iron Fist as well, but it would probably be less corny movie spandex a la The Phantom that we are all thinking but more like functional athletic martial arts type tights which would probably look less stupid.

I agree with all points on that one, ck.
As for Flash, I liked the TV series' idea (though not the execution; the suit was hideous) that the costume is made of a unique material that can withstand the friction of all his high-speed movement.

And I definitely think the Black Panther can & should wear tights-not leather or rubber-should he ever make it to film. The material can probably be padded and/or painted in such a way to make it look more protective. As for Iron Fist, I don't really see him needing the protection of a padded or leather suit. Honestly, off the top of my head, nobody else comes to mind.
