What Comes First?

There seems to be conflicting information as to what movies will be made first by Marvel studios, I was under the impression that all the main characters of the Avengers would all have their own solo movies, and then once their origins and whatnot are established, the actors would come together for the ultimate crossover.

But now it seems like the Avengers is slated to come up after Iron Man and the Hulk?

Could some one enlighten me please.

Im not 100% sure but from what I recall they're planning on making Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Ant Man and Thor. The Avengers will come after. Hope it helps

Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk are first, after that, nothing is set in stone as far as we know at this point. They have a lot of projects on the pipeline, but at his point no one knows what's going to be for 2009 and what's going to be for later yet. Captain America will probably be one of the 2009 movies, though.

Thanks guys, guess all that net stuff is just rumors, I just wasn't sure if Avi had announced the order officially, since thats how it seems on Wiki, projecting the Avengers for 2011, yet the ever reliable IMDB has it for 2009.

Seems logical to have everyone get their solo movies first, instead of rushing intermingled origins all in one movie, sort of like X-Men.

2009 will also have the Wolverine movied, which kind of seems to have slowed down on production.

I'd say that they were holding off on future movies til they saw how IM and Hulk did but with the way these 2 are shaping up casting-wise and with the positive reaction to the look of the mach 1 armor, I'd be surprised if we don't get an announcement soon on the go-ahead for a Cap film for '09. Antman is just waiting in the wings with a director already attached. That will leave Thor and Fury/SHIELD, hopefully for '10. I'd say we'll get Avengers around '12.

I kinda hope that the logistical nightmare of making a superhero team-up movie like AVENGERS will give the other heroes more time to have their own solo movies.
