I remember buying Hulk # 271 off the racks when I was 9. RR was a decently developed character, but it didn't stop me from being offended that a woodland creature was in my comic book about a fearsome rampaging monster.

You can give him a cigar, have him curse like a Stephen King novel, fire a big gun every 5 seconds.....but he's still a racoon. I don't mind animal-type characters like Ursa Major, but any character that screams "DISNEY XD" makes me wince.

That depends. I hold the opinion that a character's appearance is vital when it comes to visual storytelling, especially when that character is being introduced. In such instances where a character looks silly or childish, the narrative has an uphill (maybe impossible) battle in doing anything serious or important.

If you find that to be irrational, then I guess I'm irrational.

I would like to see the Starjammers on the big screen.

I don't want to see any attempt at Rom, simply because the Wraiths in it already creep me out and I don't think I could handle the horror type film it would have to be. (Other than the Punisher I have tried to watch every Marvel film that has come out)

Plastic-Man would be great!

If Jim Carrey hadn't already done the likes of the Mask and Cable Guy etc..., all channeling similar characters, he would have once been ideal.

Besides all the fun visual gags, there's a dark almost frighting pathos to the character, that would be great to explore.

Someone with a dark sense of hummer could totally make it work.

Even in the comics narrative, Starjammers was somewhat of a genre leap, but given their huge scope and history it worked, yes... now X-Men are in space and this is where the most incredible story leads ...watch the epic unfold. You just went with it and it was great!

I would love to see it!
Would the creators and audience for the X movie franchise be as open to it though?
Or would you want it developed more as a stand alone franchise?

Would it even fall under the 20CFox X move franchise rights? Or is it Marvel/Disney?
