nolan is most likely gonna finish his time with these moves by going full circle like most directors do with trilogys

i cant help but think ra's al ghul's daughter will be involved

Well gosh...I think I'd like to see the Waynes have a presence in Bruce's life and mission again.

Talia would be cool. Wayne Manor definetly.

Yes, Talia would close the Ra's story and would give the movie a sense of closeness. i'd rather having her than Catwoman.

there's a huge untapped potential connection to BB: the runaway inmates who escaped from arkham in BB could turn into villains... like Mad Hatter, Firefly, Cornelius Stirk, Zsasz or Ventriloquist and usurp after the joker cleared the grounds for freaks in TDK.

Agreed, not even a mention, picture, or a reference to them happened in TDK. Need that emotional piece that we had in BB and didn't have in TDK.

Wayne Manor, new Batcave, and hopefully a story connection to BB as well.

This!

Since the first time I saw that scene it instantly made me think that it was going to be the groundwork for the freaks taking over and how they came about in Gotham. Joker of course came from somewhere else, otherwise they would have already had fingerprints and some sort of name or serial number for him if he was an inmate at Arkham.

I want this as well as what The Guard said in regards to Bruce's parents.

Pretty much. Add Wayne's philantropy foundation (or whatever to show him moving away from his spoiled brat image) to that and we're set.

Wayne Manor, new Batcave, Bruce visiting his damn parents' graves.

Basically this. Have him be all worn down like in MOTP and have some similar emotional moments to that movie involving his parents being dead.

Maybe have the remnants of the league of assassins be trying to get revenge with or without Talia.

I don't mind if Nolan has a scene where he's at his parents grave in the rain but personally I think it's fan wank. There are other ways to show that he still has his parents in his mind while he's going out every night. The first film used flashbacks, it's not out of the question that he could use more for the next one.

I would rather prefer elements regarding Bruce(the mansion, the batcave) rather than bring in elements of past foes.

definately Bruce's parents

it'd be cool to have a scene of Bruce/Batman going to back to where his parents were murdered or visiting their grave

Well, this turned into a "What would you like to see in the sequel" thread pretty fast.

the dark knight was very much a joker vs batman story, and i think nolan is at his element with the joker, and if he cant top that then im sure he will go back to experiances of batman begins, esp now rachel is dead

I think The Narrows should return or at the very least be mentioned... Arkham too.

Little things like that would go a long way towards making TDK's Gotham feel like BB's again.

There doesn't have to be any connections. These movies won't be a trilogy in the like of Star Wars or The Lord of The Rings, where it's one big story divided into installments. More like three separate parts of a character's progression. You don't have to watch Batman Begins to follow what's going on in The Dark Knight and I'm sure that's how they'll approach Batman 3.

Why should Bat 3's Gotham look more like Batman Begins?

I feel the same way as Wesley. I loved TDK but the feel and look in Batman Begins felt more like Gotham in regards to being dark and dirty. In TDK the night shots were a little too bright at times and I missed the look of BB. I wouldn't like the idea of making Gotham(Chicago)look different from either of the first two in this new film because then each film it would seem almost like a new city.

I seriously doubt that. Batman's current situation as being a wanted murderer for the crimes Two Face committed swings entirely on the events of TDK.

That's true, but I think his point was that you don't have to watch BB to figure out what's going on in TDK. I'm sure there will be some tie-in, like Scarecrow in TDK, Wayne Manor still being built, etc. While there's still some tie-ins, they don't bleed into the next story as much as Star Wars, where it feels like a more cohesive whole throughout the trilogy. :cwink:

Yeah, but TDK's story had a really big impact on the characters and the city, moreso than BB's events to TDK. There will be some wtf moments for a B3 viewer who hasn't watched TDK, I think.

Nolan ignored the monorail and the Narrows situation (although he nodded at the Mansion getting rebuilt), but he can't wasily ignore what's been done in the 3rd act of TDK.
