Steve Buscemi as The Yellow Bastard in "Sin City"?
Christopher Walken as Senator Roarke in "Sin City"?

that would have been awesome.

Didn't Sam Raimi want Wes Bentley as Peter Parker/Spider-Man?

Pierce Brosnan as James Bond

I mean earlier.....instead of Timothy Dalton. He was gonna be but couldn't because of Remington Steele........I still think Dalton is the Best Bond after Connery.

wasn't Val Kilmer up for the role of Morpheus, too?

i think that could have worked.

OMG! According to the site, Glen Danzig was concidered to Play Wolverine. I thought about him playing wolverine years before the movie was ever made.
Yeah, but he was so drunk in the interview he dropped to the bottom of the list. :(

-Stuart Townsand as Aragorn in LOTR (deemed 'too young' by Jackson and co.)

I heard it was because he was a complete a**hole! I also heard that Vin Diesel wanted the part of Aragorn so much that he would even do it for free.

Leonardo DiCaprio as Anakin Skywalker... He's a better actor than Hayden, but I think Hayden is darker...

Leo is too old for Anakin IMO, although he still has a baby face. I'm glad they stuck with Hayden, I enjoyed his transition into Darth Vader, dark performance.

I don't think Leo would have done a good job at all. Hayden is not my first choice either, but he did a good job, IMHO.

I know...the 'too young' excuse was just the PC explaination.

I thought Townsend was fired from LOTR due to problems on the set, his own stubborness and refusual to speak elvish?

Here is the one picture of him as Aragorn:

It was.

But the "official" Hollywood reason that Jackson and co. gave was that he was far too young to portray the role of Aragorn convincingly...

Its okay though, Viggo was an upgrade.

Harrison Ford as Michael Douglas in Traffic(Passed up because it wasn't a popcorn movie)

Brad Pitt as Hugh Jackman in The Fountain(Passed up for Troy)

Only two I know that I haven't seen mentioned!
Not that I think they would necessarly be better, but still.

-Robert DeNiro as Sam Lowry in "Brazil"

-Willem Dafoe as Senator Roarke in "Sin City"

-Ewan McGregor as Richard in "The Beach"

-Nicolas Cage as John Constantine in "Constantine"

-Peter Stormare as Balthazar in "Constantine"

-Sean Young as Catwoman in "Batman Returns"

Chris Cooper, Ed Harris & a list of others originally in the running to play Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2.

Val Kilmer was originally slated to play Neo in The Matrix.

Chris O'Donnell was originally slated to star alongside Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black before he was called back to the Batman franchise earlier than planned for Batman & Robin. Obviously Will Smith got the role instead.

Chris Cooper, Dennis Quaid, and Kurt Russell as Gordon in Batman Begins.

If only...

Actually, "Fantastic Four" would have flopped no matter who starred in it, because the script is a piece of crap.

They had Dr. Doom as the lovechild of Collossus and Electro, The Invisible Woman as a whiny ***** who wants to get rid of her powers, and Mr. Fantastic as a jerk.

Not even Bruce Campbell and Renee Zellwegger could have saved that movie.

True, but it would've been slightly more watchable with the considered cast.

As an aside, I actually think Grufford is decent in the role, but lacks Clooney's charm, a charm he seemingly only reserves for Coen brothers movies.

The Coens doing the FF.... That's the dream...
