What do you do to make the world better?

changing the world isnt easy, some want to change it for the better or for the worst. So that do you do for the world? What mark are you leaving (however so tiny or huge) on the community where you live, or on a bigger scale of the world? I'm curious of what the shh community fights for or against, stands up for or sits in about.

me? I raise money and walk in the avon walk for breast cancer that happens in san francisco and in other citys across the U.S. and will be participating in a marathon and a half over 2 days for the cause in July to raise awarness and research funds. Its a cause to find a cure for a cancer that effects over three million women AND men in the U.S. as well as providing prevenitive services for people that otherwise couldnt afford it.

So what things do you guys do to make a mark in this crazy world?

I'm going to start capping people in their knees, that'll make people straighten the **** up.









But for serious, I volunteer, not so much in my immediate area. I've done soup kitchens and stuff, but they usually have a mass surplus of volunteers. I need to be somewhere that I'm needed. I'm trying to figure out now what I can do to actually make a difference like be a Big Sister or be a foster parent or something. Do they have Big Sister programs? *googles*

Regardless, I plan to be more involved in my community and attend community meetings and stuff, participate in activities and such to make my hometown rock.


Edit: as for Walks, I did the AIDS Walk and Cancer ones when I worked in health care, but not since. Yeah, I suck.
Last protest I attended was at the Chinese Embassy in DC to set it on fire as payback for the monks.

I don't believe in rasing money for finding a cure for cancer....since i find it pointless. it won't be found.


But i believe in donating blood, i can't donate myself since i have a blood disorder.BUT it pains me when people walk by one of those blood buses solicitors and come up with excuses not to give blood i mean wtf?! it takes like 30 minutes or less.

I'm sure alot of people said the same thing about the deadly little diseases that killed many people before penicillin was found on something as simple as moldy fruit. It is hard for our modern generation to fully appreciate that before it, even an infected pinprick or a tiny cut could've been lethal. Medical deaths back then were as prevelent as death from HIV and cancer today all becasue of the lack of that 'miricle drug' and other useful disease fighters like lysozyme for eye and intestinal disease.

I'm sure its not a matter of if, its a matter of when. wether your opinion is based on lack of human compasion or not having those close to you suffering the loss of limbs or life to cancers dosnt really matter, but once someone near and dear to you tells you they have 6 months to live i'm sure that would change your mind especially after watching them slowly die becasue of kimo ripping their body apart as the disease takes over their body.

I search out child-pornography sites (without actually going to them), and report them to every available agency, when I can. I've gotten three taken down, of late - none of them anything big, mostly 'top 50 sites' pages, but those in turn can lead to more, and on and on. Really, there is no precedent for that kind of horror.

It's my blood, I can do what I want with it. Of course, I don't usually make excuses, I just tell them "No" when they approach me (which is very rare, but whatever).

As for what I do to make the world better, well, I am working in the medical field, so I guess that counts.

I'm starting a plan for world domination. got the bombs all set and my father works for the military and has a couple of missiles that I could use. it's going to be fun watching the world burn and all run to me for safety and survival. I am the real Doctor Doom. I say that because I'm actually a foreigner- lol.

Well, that's my plan on how to change the world into one that gives whim to my every pleasure.
