Comics What Do You Perfer, Spider-man Or Ultimate Spider-man?

I prefer Ultimate Spider-Man to the original. I find Ultimate Spider-Man to be more witty and funny then the original which attracts me to the character better. He is more careless then the original which is more realistic to me that right off the bat, you can't be the perfect hero. I hated the fact that in the original Peter invented his own webbing, but in Ultimate he creates them from his fathers notes(funny how his father looks a lot like Peter from the original universe).

I used to like Ultimate, but Bendis' formulaic style and crappy dialoge gets on my nerves. Quality has deteriorated greatly.

I couldn't vote. I haven't enjoyed either much in the past few months.

After Gwen died in USM and they had Peter act like a jerk to MJ... just so they could break up them up and shake things up with Kitty... it's been hit and miss. I liked the Black Cat story (funny) but the last arc (Deadpool) was a real YAWN. And Peter and Kitty... just doesn't seem right. I like the angst and drama between him and MJ better.

616... my first love... being violated with... well, you know. The last story I REALLY enjoyed was the Hydra arc (which fizzled at the end, but still).

Sigh.... I wished they would make the current story more "believable." I'm having trouble believing Peter would feel compelled to do this. I actually understand his current mentor/mentee role with Tony, but...

I hope they know what they are dong. All's well that ends well...

Right now I'm a little more partial to Ultimate Spider-Man. It's really been on fire, minus the Deadpool arc...that was a little too drawn out if you ask me. But with the Ultimate Clone Saga coming up the intensity levels are going through the roof.

The regular universe Spider-Man would be all right if they'd stop trying so damn hard to make something happen. The totem thing should have ended at the Book of Ezekiel and stayed that way. Unfortunately, The Other demolished that...

That's really one of the more recent events I'm most angry about. At first I was for it, thinking they wouldn't go TOO far with it...but they did. JMS went and ruined his own storyline, haha.

But pending how things go with the unmasking, it's still a bit too early to tell how things are gonna go, right now Ultimate Spider-Man has more SIAT love than the regular universe Spidey. But if the unmasking thing goes the way I expect it to go...then Ultimate Spidey will be taking the back seat.

Hmmm...starting to think I'm the only one who liked that arc .....mind you I hated the ending.....just thought everything up to that point had just the right mixture of action and comedy....DeadPool as an Ultimate character was average at best.

There was an issues Kong wanted to kick Peter from behind to prove he was Spider-Man. Peter saw the kick coming and faked being it so Kong would not suspect him as Spider-man anymore.

What really bothers me was the whole Flash liked Gwen thing from USM 65, that was never ever mentioned again. Instead of Flash actually becoming a decent and interesting character he goes back to throwing pencils at Pete in the next arc

it's funny that Bendis has also set up a New Ultimates thread with the whole "you'll be joining The Ultimates when you turn 18" promise from Nick Fury. don't think it'll happen any time soon though. maybe in The Ultimates 4.

I feel the same way. I hate how Kitty is so worried the Pete will break up with her. She is just so annoying when she does that.

Currently, I have to say Ultimate. If you mean "overall", then 616 beats the bejeezus out of Ultimate.

In all fairness, we'll compare the first 100 issues of 616 Spidey to the first hundred of Ultimate Spidey.

616 by a landslide.

If you mean, "Out of what you've read in the last few months", then it's Ultimate by a landslide. And I haven't even been into the last few storylines that much. I liked Ultimate Deadpool up until that crap-tastic last issue...

I'm sorry I've made you angry but thats just my opinion. I'm not bashing 616 by any means, I just perfer Ultimate Spider-Man. I collect 616 to Spider-Man India. I never said ''I love bendis'' I just said I perfer Ultimate version.
