among the most talented. his music is brilliant, he, on the other hand, isn't.

I own that DVD. Man in the Mirror is so incredibly moving I swear when watching it I feel like I'm right there in the audience.

He's an amazing showman. I saw him live in Germany during his Dangerous Tour and I've never been the same since that day.

Maybe if he tours again you'll get to experience the power, the emotion, and the excitement that is Michael Jackson. :yay:

Michael Jackson is definitely among the most talented musicians ever. The music he has contributed over the years is wonderful. If he didn't go completely insane, he could've contributed even more amazing music in more recent years.

It's a shame.

the shame for his legacy, personal life aside, is that the problem with his last few albums isn't that he hasn't written great music. He simply made horrible choices for what made the cuts. I've heard so many unreleased songs that were absolutely incredible.

One time this guy came up to me and called me Michael Jackson, then he walked away. :csad:

His a musical prodigy. The guys been singing professionally longer than most people on hype have been alive. Too bad he lost the plot. Same thing happened to prince and madonna to a lesser extent. They got so many people around them for years doing everything for them and telling them how great they are, that they lose touch with the common people. Micheal Jacksons been living in his imaginary Neverland to long!

In Michael's defense that really isn't his fault. When you've been working/singing your entire life since you were five, growing up in an adoring public, couldn't go outside and experience childhood, an abusive father, and so forth it stunted him to the point of him having the mindset of a child.

Anytime your own father says "you're ugly" because you have acne or a big nose, doesn't do favors for the child and neither does physical abuse either.

So for Michael's mindset I can't fault him for that.

Man I had no idea MJ could beatbox so freaking well. I was floored when I saw videos of him beatboxing on Youtube.

^that sounds creepy. And I don't know why.

Early Michael Jackson, awesome

Modern Michael Jackson, sucks

Music wise

I just thought I should dig up this thread and post this you tube video link. this is from the jacksons reuniion tour, and unfortantely michael shares the lead vocals with his brother marlon, who can't sing his way out of a paper bag, and his dancing is literally hideous. the whole time the guy sings michael is sitting there just waiting to save the pefromance, but I assure you the first minute of horribleness is worth it when Michael grabs the microphone and just explodes.

Wow! He could have been something in the future. He was astounding in the 80's. It's a shame for what he has done to himself.:csad:

He had some good songs but thats it. Now hes a odd man who wants to be peter pan.

i don't even NEED words...

i don't think that statement is really justified. Were talking about the best vocalist, dancer of all time who is also one of the best song writers of all time. He released the biggest album of all time and the three highest grossing world tours of all time. He has at least 50 songs which are excellent and not good.

He didn't just have some good songs. He revolutionized music and became a global superstar, no wait. He became a God, even if it only lasted for a few decades.

He wrote Thriller guys.... Thriller.

I saw this thread, and I'm resurrecting it just to say my peace and ask for something.

I'm not generally into Pop; Classic Rock is more my thing, but Michael Jackson is a huge exception. He's one of my favorite solo artists ever, a true musical genius. He's inspired so many people, and though his personal life is in shambles, the hot tracks will always be there. Billie Jean is my personal favorite. Not only is it a great song with an incredible beat, it's also an awe-inspiring music video, and the best song performance Jackson's ever done. Hell, even today, no one moves like MJ... just look at him go.

F'in' Billie Jean, peeps!

On to the request, I saw him perform 'Man in the Mirror' (kick ass track, by the way) in Moonwalker a long time ago... I haven't seen it in forever. Does anybody have it? It's a really great performance (actually, it's two performances into one, haha).

Isn't it sad what a freak this guy turned out to be? I hate it when icons do this to themselves. It's disillusioning. Mel Gibsen, MJ, and others. It just totally kills the legacy.

I wouldn't call Mel Gibson an icon. His films are awesome, though.

I do wonder if Jacko can undo the damage. If he could overcome his deoms once and for all, and manage to get with a hot producer (a Quincy Jones reunion would be dynamite) and put real energy into his live performing and whatnot, it would be a miracle.

Mike was the greatest pop entertainer ever. No question. Hell, look at all the Timberlake's, Usher's, Chris Brown's, Ne-Yo's, and Omarion's around today. All jacking Mike's style in some way or another.

Is he the greatest musical act ever? Meh. That's debatable. Those four dudes from Liverpool wrote a couple nice diddies back in the day....

despite the fact that he's a total weirdo , i'll have to admit that michael's a very talented musician . he's one of the few pop artists who's music i can actually stand.

Meh, I never understood the huge fuss over Mel Gibson.
The media made things sound much worse than they actually were.
