How did Smallville get good again?

Don't get me wrong... I don't think its Battlestar or Lost or anything, but hell if this show didn't turn itself around.

I somehow have been enjoying the Lana/Lex plot.

I'm interested in the baby stuff. Lana finding shut out... amazing.

I'm not sure how the end the show that leads into Sups, or end the show at all really, but I'm digging this season WAY more than the last few.

Anyone else having this reaction?

Well, that's definately a big part of it.

I thought the first half of the season was meh (kind of like the rest of the series actually, except for a few select episodes).

But I gotta say, that this 2nd half of the season has been great. Even KK seems to have improved, and is not overdoing her drama queen thing.
