Before X-men Origins: Wolverine leaked, it was said that James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Spider-Man 4) wrote a 2° version of the Script. Yet, in the movie, there's only mention of David Benniof (Troy), who wrote the 1° draft, and Skip Woods (Hitman) who rewrote it.

What happened to James Vanderbilt?

Oh, I know. He had some good ideas so Fox fired him.

Wasn't his pitch to Sony for Spider-man 4 very character driven? Theres your answer

It's Writer Guild thing. You can't credit four writers like in this case: David Benioff, David Ayer, Skip Woods and James Vanderbeilt, so they just choose which screenwriters had the most influence over the direction of the screenplayer. David Benioff cracked the ice, David Ayer probably rewrote it in a small way and Skip Woods must have rewrote it in a big way like including Gambit, Deadpool, The Three Mile Island, the Team X, the wars, etc. Then, James Vanderbeilt must of polish Skip Woods screenplay.

Actually, Vanderbilt's draft was a different Script altogether. I remember a thread discussing a Script Review of Benniof's version, where a poster said he had Vanderbilt's version, but was forbid to share it.

I gotta say. If we ever get it in our hands, I wouldn't be surprised it if turned out better than Benniof/Woods/Ayer's version.

How'd you know?

Yeah I remember that guy, he was full of *****. His review never happened. Either he lied or maybe he was promissed the Vanderbeilt script and jumped on the money a little too soon.
