This discussion started off in the deep end and managed to go off the rails pretty quick that being said I'll add the "super tax" (which is a modest proposal compared to the one in here ) in France was a pretty big failure.

I mean, it's not a fantasy. It's called a developing country, which we are devolving into if this income disparity continues to grow.

It'll just be a little cooler because robots will be beating us instead of poor people being manipulated by the rich.

1) The bottom 80 percent of the population do contribute to society. They work the lowest paying jobs in the country with very few perks or luxuries and they only have 7 percent of America's wealth.

The other problem is they can't afford to pay taxes.

2) The only single response divided into multiple post was on page one. It's hardly the norm for me or some impossible challenge to respond to.

Paris Hilton gives 1% of her net worth to the IRS annually.

A struggling truck driver gives 90% of her net worth to the IRS annually.

This is no where close the same amout of sacrifice.

How about both pay 1 or 2 percent of their net worth if "everyone has to contribute to a free society"?

Not just no, but heck no. As it stands, the top 5% of earners pay over 50% of the tax burden.. IF You made it 90% or more, then i don't think a single one would stay in the country.. WHY when they are being effectively punished for excelling??

Then why don't we just say, no one deserves to earn more than half a mil a year for anything (INC overpaid football and other spots stars).. YOU earn more than that, everyting you earn gets taken from you.
THEN JUST SEE how willing people will be, to actually STRIVE to earn that much.. Let alone close to it.

Most Americans make under 40,000 and live check to check. Why are they giving most of their potential net worth to the government instead of Paris Hilton giving 1 percent?

You do realize the bottom 51% of earners pay NOTHING in taxes, once they've gotten their returns, tax credits and deductions taken into account, don't you??

The rich also have mobility. California is a leading example of business mobility due to high taxation.
