What is the Best Alex Ross Kingdom Come/Justice Figure?


I was going to say Hawkman is the best figure, but my mind was changed once I got Black Manta in my hands. Just from looking at the figure in the box, I just thought it was a plain goofy-looking filler figure, but once realizing that his helmet is removable and scuba pack comes off, Black Manta is actually one pretty kick-ass figure - with a normal standing stance and a bit more articulation than the usual Alex Ross figure - articulation at the wrists. And a very bad-ass head sculpt of the African-american dude under the mask. His whole outfit is very slick as well - a nice obsidian texture and look. Definitely my new favorite:

I have Kingdom Come Superman, Kingdom Come Wonder Woman, Justice Superman, and Justice Joker. Of them all, my favorite is Joker. One of DCD's finest pieces.

Joker is fantastic sculpt-wise, only problem I had with him is the paint apps to around the eyes. I have yet to see one that looks good. Mine was the most tolerable but even then I'm not completely happy.

My vote has to be the Batman because his sculpt is great, the paint apps were great and they incorporated the batarang pretty good with it able to be stored in his belt or in hand. Aquaman is also great, paint apps are fabulous on the costume. The staff/trident gives him the royal touch. A simple villain sculpt like Black Manta came out very well too. The helmet is perfect IMO. Superman from Justice is great too but he (and Bizarro since they have the same exact body) suffer from a stance thats a bit too wide which detracts from his overall height. Green Lantern is also a great figure but the sculpt only allows for his right hand with the power ring to be in one way. That takes away from it some IMO, although the costume/paint apps look great. Flash is cool but should've had a non-action pose. Every other hero is standing straight and he just doesn't mesh as good because of that, although he came out great. Very true to character face-sculpt. The other villain I like alot is Bizarro because of the head sculpt and paint apps to it. He came out great. Plastic Man looks great but has issues standing. Zatanna (atleast the 15 or so that I've seen so far) came out very lackluster, completely off IMO from the prototype which looked pretty good. Her face (and paint apps) have been pretty bad. Hawkman is solid, looks great but his arms just don't look absolutely proportionate. From the mid-upper arm down they look too skinny. Minor complaint on him though. Black Canary and Wonder Woman are both nice female figures but Canary has issues standing on those heels and WW is taller than she should be.

All in all the Justice series has been great overall for me but I'm a Ross fan so that might take away from what I really think. Its just nice having a uniform JLA that has figures with the same style in mind and not random artist specific figures left and right. That was my main selling point on collecting the Justice figures.

i think hawkman is the best. the JL batman is the only one i have opened though. But i saw hawkman loose at a comic shop and he looks great.

I really love whatever superman fig it was that you sent me FTB. I know that's from a different line, but he's great and is on top of my TV. I wish he was as tall as my loose JL batman though.

I own Kingdom Come Green Lantern, I'd like to get Superman and Batman from Kingdom Come. I think the best Justice has to be Captain Marvel and Black Atom, so far.
I also think its cool that now there is an action figure of Alex Ross' father. Very cool.

Maybe.. But I personally.. Dislike alex ross.. Not his art just him.. but that takes away from his art for me.. but I love the Batman from Justice....

I don't know the guy personally so I won't delve into that but as a fan of his skills and his art i love the figures. He paints some maginficent art so its easy to like it. What is it that you don't like about him personally SsM???

My favorite is the Justice Batman. That's probably because he is the only one I have. I've been debating about getting Joker, but can't decide due to money and space issues. I'm also keeping an eye out for a KC Batman. Does anyone know if they've done a KC Green Arrow or are going to do a Justice Green Arrow?

I'm gonna answer my own question because I just found out that there is going to be a Justice Green Arrow in series 5. He looks pretty cool, but I'm going to have to see him in real life before I make up my mind on him...

I'm happy because now I'll have a KC Bats I can display loose with my other DCD Batman figs like Crimson Mist Bats, Red Son Bats, Gotham By Gaslight Bats, DKR Bats etc....

On a side note I can't wait for the COIE wave 3 Batman.

I don't hope that...when I get the RE KC Batman figure I hope it still has the same type of packaging, so it don't look odd next to my other KC figures....The origional KC BM has the old school DC symbol where as this one well have the new symbol.... so odds are it'll(The old KC Batman) still be worth some bucks...
