I've had my PS3 since fall of 2007 & although its still going strong for now but I think it is time that I need to clean the laser on the inside of it, so what is the best Blu-Ray Player Laser-Lens Cleaner? Is the cleaning disc really effective or should I take the PS3 apart & try cleaning it manually?

Yeah take the cover off and get a screw driver and rub the tip over the lens  should be ok then :)

Hehe nar honestly i just got a ps3 myself so if anyone one replies im also interested :)

A friend got this for his PS3. It works really well.

I haven't used it though. I am of the mindset of, if it works fine, don't mess with it.
I also recommend not taking it apart. You could void the warranty.
Hope this helps.

^^ I might get that. I mean, even though I've had my Blu-Ray player only since December, I think I should buy that just in case.

If it was merely dust that got into the system then I could see that disc possibly working but I don't see it helping to much against smoke residue & other gunk that could build up on the lenses & cause problems. My family has a few heavy smokers including myself so smoke can't be avoided getting into any of my players. I'm sure lots of other things could go wrong with it that simply cleaning the laser lens wouldn't solve.
