what do you guys think is the best Dell computer to buy for the price (and if its not from dell its ok, but i want a computer from dell)
heres what i want in my computer

*best processor
*large hard drive
*no monitor (i already have a good high end monitor)
*average-good Graphics card
*multiple usb slots
* price range $700-$1,200

If your willing to spend that much on a quality pc... your better off building your own or having someone do it for you

May I ask, why Dell?

i got a dell preferred card (like a credit card for dell) and at the end of the month ill get lots of $$$$ and going to pay off my old debt on dell so i can buy a new desktop

Oh ok, that makes more sense.

What is your upper cost limit? We can reccommend upgrades till the cows come home...
:)

Processor: Quad Core Processor, Q6600 or higher
RAM: 3-4 gigs
HDD: 500gigs
ODD: 1 DVD Drive
GPU: Geforce 8400-8800 GT series (as they're inexpensive) or anything in the 9 series

I built a similar rig a few months ago for around $600-$700.

Assuming they've better options and they're overpriced, this should fit into your cost range for 700-1200.

One thing I dislike about the Dell series I have been seeing is that they do not have PS2 slots on the motherboard, just USB. Which means mouse and keyboards are all USB based, which I've had problems with while tinkering in the BIOS and such.
